But seriously, this title meant so much.
More than all my other teams combined
I still get goosebumps thinking about being the champs

I think all of us would’ve taken a championship at any cost. A bubble chip, a Raptors rent-a-star chip, etc. In the end, we had the pleasure of seeing our guys that we watched grow game by game. Saw them win MVPs, suffer catastrophic injuries, deal with disrespect from the unapologetic coastal biased national media. They dominated this post season. Beat everyone in front of them without ever being down in a series or facing an elimination game. They went 4-1 in close out games.
And they did it together, playing for each other. Embracing this ‘fly over’ city and the fans. They truly care about this franchise and each other.
Excited to run it back, but everyone should remember how this feels. You can only do something for the first time once, and this feels really amazing.

Back from the parade. Took light rail to Union Station, and saw the staging area with all the fire trucks in the Ball Arena parking lot. Train was packed but not too bad. Arrived at Union Station about 9:20, forty minutes before the start of the parade. Walked to my old stomping ground in LoDo where I owned a loft over at Wazee and 19th in the 90’s. Ended up finding a spot to stand at 17th and Wazee with only a couple younger people in front of me at the barricade, so I had a great view. Stood there for 30 minutes waiting with anticipation for the parade to begin. Then it began. The street was alive with cheers, and the first truck with a Nuggets player passed by with Cancar, who had a smile from ear to ear. Then I see at the back of the truck Christian Braun. I yelled, “Christian, you’re a winner!” He kinda looked toward me and smiled, and was only about 30 feet away, but honestly it was so loud I doubt he heard me. At one point, the parade stalled for about five minutes, as if a traffic jam. Then it started moving. Suddenly I see Bruce Brown on the street walking right in front of me! Everyone’s yelling “Bruce”! Then I see DAJ walking. More trucks keep passing, and the AG truck arrived with the crowd chanting, “AG! AG!” Finally, about 30 minutes into parade, Jokic arrives with his daughter and wife next to him. I’m sure you all saw it on TV. The Larry O’Brien trophy shining so beautifully in the morning sunshine, right with Jokic where it should be. All I could do when Jokic went by was take video and raise my hand to waive and yell, “Thank you, thank you, thank you”, tears actually welling up in my eyes. I got lots of video with my phone. Yes, I then took light rail to go home, and watched the rally from the comfort of my sofa. Sports celebrations don’t get any better than this! Thanks for sharing this. Sports can be such an amazing shared experience. If you would have told me a decade ago we would see a title in 2023, I would have guessed about what kind of mercenary would come to Denver, what massive trade would happen, or what lottery luck we would have to get a #1 pick in a generational draft or something. This exceeded my wildest expectations. I wouldn't trade this journey for anything. This team is perfect. These stars are perfect. And this fanbase is perfect. Nugglife, indeed.

Yeah, this feels like an extra special championship, the way the first Elway championship did where the key players were Elway (long Denver career), TD (drafted by Denver), Sharpe (drafted by Denver), Rod Smith (undrafted, only played for Denver) ... the journey to get there wasn't some kind of "we traded for a bunch of star players" or "imma take my talents to south beach" or "KD forcing his way to town" stuff. It was mostly home-grown talent, a couple key acquisitions like McCaffrey, and a lot of heart and effort. This is such a special team.

It was mostly home-grown talent, a couple key acquisitions like McCaffrey, and a lot of heart and effort. This is such a special team. I was too young to really get the Elway championships so I can't speak to them like I'm sure others can. Even the early Avs rings. I wouldn't have even been 10 yet. Nuggets are for sure my favorite but I'm a pretty massive Broncos/Avs fan. I don't miss many games for all 3 if I can especially as I've gotten older and I'm not going out as much/social life isn't as active and I'm keeping up with everything across the board. This one felt more special to me. Last year was insane as an Avs fan. 2015 was unbelievable. This one tops the board for so many reasons. Probably the Nuggets just as a franchise. How we built it. The personalities. Fanbase. Like I love the Broncos fanbase but just look how we've dealt with the past stretch .. that's been the Nuggets for so long.

I genuinely think I've watched the Jokic viral clip like 100 times already today. Between that, Bruce teasing the fans and Malone being blackout drunk...what a f***ing parade.
I love this f***ing team!!!

Yup, this is a special team and we are living in a special time. At the time, I thought we were crazy to dump Bones, but you look at how close and how single-minded everyone was, and it makes total sense to lose players who don't go along with mentality it takes to be a champion.
(p.s. For those few of us whose love for Denver basketball started in the ABA days with the Rockets, 47 years is nothing !!!)

Happy for all the guys but especially Jeff, Ish, DeAndre, and Reggie. A long time coming for those guys. Christian, Peyton, Jack, and Collin don't know how lucky they are.

Can you guys believe that season opener vs Utah was this season? Seems like a completely different team.
If you had told me after that loss we would win it all, I would have laughed.
