Players getting off the trucks to hype up the crowd! So awesome! Love this team. There were a few times a bunch of kids would just start rushing down the street but I couldn’t tell which players it was for. Cant wait to watch the replay you flying back right away or spending the rest of the day out here? I'd love to meet up for lunch or smth (I have a cranky baby right now but he'd be happy if we went somewhere.)

Malone dropping F bombs on live television lol I love malone. By far my favorite coach of any team. So glad we won it with him leading the way.

CDN NBA Champs:
Mike Smrek. Bill Wennington. Rick Fox. Joel Anthony. Cory Joseph. Tristan Thompson. Chris Boucher. Andrew Wiggins. now Jamal Murray.
Rick Fox is the biggest surprise. he epitomized entitled LA douche to me. I'm surprised he's Canadian.

So we have the 7th Australian 9th Canadian 4th Slovenian 5th Serbian
To win the NBA Championship. Should've had those flags displayed prominently on stage at the parade.

Random thought...
Has anyone else noticed Peyto Watson is always front and center whenever Nuggets are in a group? Gets lots of hugs and high fives also.
I wonder if he's truly loved and if this is a sign of his future here?

Back from the parade. Took light rail to Union Station, and saw the staging area with all the fire trucks in the Ball Arena parking lot. Train was packed but not too bad. Arrived at Union Station about 9:20, forty minutes before the start of the parade. Walked to my old stomping ground in LoDo where I owned a loft over at Wazee and 19th in the 90’s. Ended up finding a spot to stand at 17th and Wazee with only a couple younger people in front of me at the barricade, so I had a great view. Stood there for 30 minutes waiting with anticipation for the parade to begin.
Then it began. The street was alive with cheers, and the first truck with a Nuggets player passed by with Cancar, who had a smile from ear to ear. Then I see at the back of the truck Christian Braun. I yelled, “Christian, you’re a winner!” He kinda looked toward me and smiled, and was only about 30 feet away, but honestly it was so loud I doubt he heard me.
At one point, the parade stalled for about five minutes, as if a traffic jam. Then it started moving. Suddenly I see Bruce Brown on the street walking right in front of me! Everyone’s yelling “Bruce”! Then I see DAJ walking. More trucks keep passing, and the AG truck arrived with the crowd chanting, “AG! AG!” Finally, about 30 minutes into parade, Jokic arrives with his daughter and wife next to him. I’m sure you all saw it on TV. The Larry O’Brien trophy shining so beautifully in the morning sunshine, right with Jokic where it should be.
All I could do when Jokic went by was take video and raise my hand to waive and yell, “Thank you, thank you, thank you”, tears actually welling up in my eyes.
I got lots of video with my phone. Yes, I then took light rail to go home, and watched the rally from the comfort of my sofa.
Sports celebrations don’t get any better than this!

I’m happy you got to celebrate with Denver people and the team. There was an enormous crowd at Civic Center Park. The Nuggets have won over Denver in a way which has never happened before and this team has really elevated the Nuggets’ profile here.

GBG, it sounds like you had a good plan executed well. I thought about doing something similar, but didn't try because it seemed unlikely to work that well, and with my Parkinsons I concerned about falling.

GBG, it sounds like you had a good plan executed well. I thought about doing something similar, but didn't try because it seemed unlikely to work that well, and with my Parkinsons I concerned about falling. Always best to be careful at our age, and you did the right thing. Standing motionless in a crowd for an hour is even hard with no underlying health issues for someone pushing 70, but I was carrying bottled water and wearing my most comfortable shoes, and everything went fine. My wife didn’t want to go because she’s afraid there could be an incident, and she really didn’t want me to go. But I reassured her it would be safe and I’d remain aware of my surroundings, and so I went. Wasn’t sure I’d go as recently as last night, but had a good night sleep and woke up feeling I want to do it, along with about a million other people!

My only “regret” is not being able to see the players live for the after parade rally. Only through video screens because once the parade was done there were so many people already there. Guess I’ll have to wait until next years parade!
