I'm almost positive the first stint of the game is going to be a brick fest from the Nuggets not named Jokic. I just expect the adrenaline to be as high as it's ever been. It's just impossible to keep that s**t under control considering how nuts the crowd is going to be.
This is the biggest game in the history of the franchise. 48 minutes away from their first ever Championship. Still doesn't even feel real to me. Just take care of business. If the Nuggets play with the right effort and attention to detail, they will hold up the Larry OB tonight.
LETS GO NUGGETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took my fam out to our fav steakhouse tonight here in Denver, and spotted Stephen A dining in the corner. Told our kind waiter that I wanted to buy him a drink. Waiter came back and said āheās not drinking alcohol this evening, sir.ā Dude takes his job seriously - good man. Good man? He's a professional stupid take merchant and an arrogant, self-righteous prick of an excuse for a human being. One of the scummiest people in all of sports media.

SAS is immensely talented and entertaining. if he has stupid takes, it's to "throw the lob" so to speak, because getting dunked on drives engagement and is immensely popular. if you want to know an untalented media person looks like when trying to do a SAS impression, look at Kendrick Perkins. it's not a pretty sight.
the SAS media model is single-handedly keeping ESPN relevant and the fact they're paying some yahoo named Pat Mcafee with his Donald Trump spraytan and one wifebeater nearly double than him just shows they have no idea what they're doing.

Smith intentionally stokes tensions between racial and other groups in order to drive engagement. He intentionally makes money off of bigotry and ignorance. It's unconscionable. Smith is not different from Perkins in any meaningful way except that he has a more recognizable voice and speech pattern. They're both scraping the bottom of the lowest common denominator barrel. Calling him talented is the same as calling a guy like Tucker Carlson talented. They're popular because they're making a willful appeal to the stupid and the bigoted. Not because they have any insight on any subject to offer. You're giving Smith far too much credit. He's put in the positions he is because ESPN knows he's an idiot. He's not saying stupid things he doesn't believe to get attention, he's being put in a position to broadcast the stupid things he wholeheartedly believes for attention. There's a big difference. He single-handedly lowers the bar for sports discourse, which is already dominated by morons, and somehow makes millions of people even dumber on a daily basis. He is, in the literal sense, holding back the progress of the human race.

Feeling pretty confident. Even if the nerves are there early I think the defence shows up from the tip.

Never thought I'd see Nuggets fans so cocky before the job is done.
Last test of NuggLife. Didn't the Avalanche blow this exact game last year?
Jordan's Bulls lost the home clinching Game 5 twice during the second three peat (three total times in their six titles).
While the series looks really good, I'm a little surprised tonight is being viewed as such a lock. This is really not that uncommon of a game to lose, and it always seems like a coronation going into it. Any team up 3-1 at home for Game 5 gets this exact same "clearly the better team, this series is over" attention that Denver is getting.
You're playing a team that can get hot from 3. That's their only real path, but they've done it plenty in these playoffs.
I think Jokic will have to score 35+ tonight.

Thatās why Iād hope they close it out tonight. But itās not a done deal and will be harder than folks think.

There's a reason for all the cliches about the clinching game being the hardest. Nuggets will probably be somewhat tight, Heat will be very loose. In this three point era, against this three point bombing team, it's completely conceivable Miami steals tonight and all these narratives shift hard.

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro, who was officially upgraded to questionable Monday, is expected to dress and attempt to play in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, sources told ESPN.
Herro can be exploited defensively but he also is a guy who can create offense which no one on the Heat can do besides Butler on the perimeter. Bruce and Braun better be ready.

This game 100% depends on Jokicās leadership. He needs to get his teammates to believe this is just like every other game, and to just play their game. Thatās his attitude, but Iām not sure it will be the attitude others have in this game.
IOW, this is a ātrap gameā for the exact opposite reason of other typical trap games. Usually, we relax at home against weaker opponents before a bigger game later in the week, lack focus, and the weaker team that comes in on a second of b2b ends up beating us. This time, we will be so looking forward to the celebration and want to close it out so badly that we overcompensate, and try too hard to be heroic and end up clanking shots weād normally make with ease. The other team keeps it close until final few minutes, giving them confidence they could steal it. We tighten up and make errors due to wanting the chip too much. Then, anything can happen and we have to hope someone steps up and wins it for us in the final minute.
Not predicting this. Anything can happen, but we will need to keep our composure and poise to win this.

It also seems like several of the more, um, amateur Nuggets bloggers have started really running their mouths in columns and on Twitter. A few of the pieces I've seen have been quite confrontational. When did we become Philly fans and media? I've actually seen several concessions from Philly media types that they were wrong. Zach Lowe had to keep reminding the DNVR folks on their show that there is still another game to win yesterday.
Can we just win? And enjoy it? Spend as little energy as possible talking s**t or being pissed about what other people say. If the Nuggets win tonight, do you know what the Stephen A/Nick Wright/Skip Bayless/Philly Blogger will do tomorrow? Say something dismissive that annoys you. The Vegas odds for next year will probably annoy you. That's the game. They don't just concede to being wrong and shut the show down. They make an excuse, they dismiss the accomplishment, whatever, because they're playing characters.
If you're giving them 1% of the space in your head on what should be a joyous occasion (tonight or later this week if the series extends), you're just doing it wrong. Who cares.
Best advice for everybody, me included, is to put all your energy into enjoying this and celebrating with others who have been on this very unique ride. We're not griping over draft grades or All Rookie 1st team anymore. This cannot be taken away. Ever. Kendrick Perkins saying they're the worst champions he's ever seen (or something) is designed to get people annoyed. We're entering a dead period for sports. They'll have to manufacture something.
If you can't just enjoy it now, then when? And why follow sports?

If the Heat win tonight, they're due to win a home game and then anything possible can happen in a Game 7. I'm nervous as f**k for tonight. The Nuggets adrenaline is going to be at an all time high. Really have to hope they can weather the early storm because that Miami team is not going to quit. I'm not greedy. All I want is one championship. This run has been special. They've taken down Gobert/KAT/Ant, KD/Booker and Lebron/AD. We've had spectacular moments from Jokic/Murray. All 6 role players in the rotation have had big moments. Malone has been incredible throughout and his post game locker room speeches are must watch. I'll never forget this run. LETS GO NUGGETS! WIN IT ALL!!!
