Benched?
He still played over 20 minutes last night. You're being dramatic. Braun had a fantastic game so he got some extra run. Porter has played under 30 minutes 6 times this postseason. It's not a huge deal. If he hits some shots in game 4 he'll play 35.

People just act like MPJ was terrible last night because of 1 defensive possession where earlier in the possession, both Jokic and KCP made major defensive mistakes.
Jokic helped for no reason (AG had help) which caused both him and KCP to rotate to the same perimeter player which then meant KCP couldn't rotate to his man (the guy who made the 3 because MPJ didn't rotate)

Even if he goes 0 for 9 he'll play because he never looks lost on the court. MPJ looks totally lost out there lately. I hope he start hitting some shots out there to offset his other deficiencies

Running with a hot lineup is something Malone has often done. It doesn't mean Porter is on the outs. He'll start game 4 and if he plays like he has for most of the playoffs he'll get plenty of run.

Nuggets broke away in the 3Q in large part due to MPJs defense. When he left the Nuggets were up 13 points. +8 in the 3Q in his minutes.

Underrated part of game 3:
Monte showing up to support his ex teammates.
Miss that guy

I'm now convinced SAS has not watched a Nugget game in its entirely since the other #15 played for Denver. even if he is "watching", he's on his phone scrolling twitter.

MPJ wasn't benched because of his play. he had 7 rebounds out of which at least 3 were highly contested, played great in 3rd quarter despite not hitting shots, and finish the game +11. I'm happy with how he played, and I think Malone is too. only reason he was benched, Malone wanted additional ball handler in 4th. he was shooting bad in game 1 and he was still out for 40 minutes.
I watched after game conference, and I think we broke Miami. you could see in answers from Spoelstra and Butler, they have no idea what to do. if Nuggets are playing concentrate, Miami has no answer cause they aren't getting 15 open 3s which they shot at insanely high rate. Nuggets have capability to go to the mud with them and wrestle there, just like Knicks did. only thing is, Knicks posted ortg over 110 only twice, and won both games. number of times Nuggets ortg was bellow 110 in these playoffs? 3 times, once in every series, and they won 2 out of those three games. Nuggets have more games with ortg over 130 then below 110. Miami just can't match that. only chance they have is for KCP/MPJ continue being in shooting slump, Jokic forget how to hit basket and Murray disappear... or Nuggets play relaxed on defense. so nothing is in their hands.

I just hope Braun's offense last night was his break out and he continues being confident and aggressive with the ball as we go along. If he can shoot his FTs and 3s at 75/38 next year he'll go a long way towards replacing what we may lose with Bruce. The other part of that (ball handling, playmaking) will have to come from the back up PG spot (a veteran addition and/or CG). And if Braun is your backup SG it leaves a spot open for Watson to play the 3 instead of the 4, which I think benefits us. Gives us more flexibility and more of a size mismatch against other teams.

saying Jokic lacks a dominant post game and then promptly doubling down on that stupidity by citing Kevin McHale as an another example is just beyond the pale.
I'm watching Andrew Schulz (comedian) and his buddies discuss the finals and they have more nuance and comprehension of Jokic, the Nuggets and basketball in general than 95% of ESPN.

Other side of the coin is guys like Bones and Jerami Grant who wanted out of this. I'd love to hear their thoughts. Maybe, in both cases, they are content that they did right by their earning upside, and they can compartmentalize.

I think it is likely that Connelly already regrets bolting for (theoretically) greener pastures, although I think it is fair to say there are non-player former Kroenke employees who didn’t/don’t exactly have warm and fuzzy feelings toward ownership. There are definitely former coaches/execs etc. who don’t appreciate being characterized as — or paid like — easily replaceable “shark teeth” or widgets or whatnot. Players have various motivations and we’ll probably never get honesty from some of those who wanted a change of scenery.
