I don't think it's a must win. There's never a truly "must win" early on in game 7's but there's must wins in the sense that if you don't your making to things much more difficult for yourself. I don't think game 1 is that for Denver. It'll suck and drive up the panic but this Nuggets team is good enough across the board to fight back vs Miami. As good as Miami has been and can be there's a clear talent difference that'll leave the door open for Denver even if they come out and struggle early on. You saw it with Boston. They gave Boston every chance but Brown/Tatum were awful. It won't be be easy but it's going to take a big time disappointment from Denver IMO. It may not be truly must win but if we lose tomorrow, I may have to ban myself.

the Heat might steal the first one from a combination of pure adrenaline and the Nuggets being ice cold from the extended rest, but balance will be restored in the end.

Again, teams with a 5 day or more rest advantage are 8-1 in game 1s at home in the Finals. Nuggets are going to come out fast and strong and run these dudes out of the gym.

For me it's just awesome to be in the drivers seat for once. Like we don't have to wish for anything out of the ordinary to happen. We don't NEED to shutdown anybody. Even if Butler/Martin pop off .. and the Nuggets do there thing we can still win. Miami NEEDS Jokic/Murray to have some stinkers. They need the supporting cast to regress heavily from there current level. That's what your hoping for if your a Miami fan. As a Nuggets fan you just need the Nuggets to be the Nuggets. If you get MVP Jokic and playoff Murray for 3-4 games and the supporting cast does what they've been doing all playoffs than it won't really matter what Miami does. Were only going to be in trouble if a few guys regress for multiple games .. not just game 1.

Yeah that would be my guess as well. I think overall even ignoring the rest the win % in games 1(and game 7) for teams with HCA in the finals is something absurd like close to 80%. Just saying I won't hit the panic button if they lose. Nuggets have had a long break. Lots of time to think. Nuggets are the heavy favorites. Miami is coming off a grueling series where they got a huge win and will have some momentum. They have some older player who will probably just get more rundown as the series goes on you'd think. I think if Miami throws a haymaker it's coming in games 1/2. Either off the emotional high from the game 7 tomorrow .. or them knowing if they go down 2-0 there in some serious trouble so they play desperate in game 2.

I'm most interested to see how Miami handles their rotation.
Love and Zeller played a combined 2 minutes in games 6 and 7 against Boston. Those are the two biggest guys in their rotation besides Bam.
Are they really going to try to run guys like Martin (6'5"), Highsmith (6'5"), Robinson (6'7", but more of a 2 guard type), and Butler (listed anywhere between 6'6" and 6'8", but clearly not as big as even Green let alone Gordon, Jokic, or Porter) at the 4 against us? Most of the size on their roster is unplayable deep bench and two way guys (Haslem, Yurtseven, Jovic, Cain, Robinson). They got away with going small against the Celtics because the biggest players they have (Williams, Horford) are the same size as Bam.
I just don't see how they keep up on the boards with us.

Allen Iverson and Philly against Shaq and Kobe in OT….. Who proceeded to wipe the floor with the Sixers the next 4 for a gentlemen’s sweep.

Wonder if Heat will attempt, once again, to break into the Nuggets locker room in hopes of attacking Joker? Bet Jokic Bros will be waiting, just in case

The nuggets have broken me as a fan over the last 30 years. This is probably our only chance to win it all. It pains me to even think about this. How many games this year alone have we lost at home as 8,9,10 point favorites or more?

Our top 4 are coming back for a minimum of two more years. Jokic, Murray, and Porter are here for the long haul. Any year we're healthy, we're a threat from now until Jokic's prime is well and truly done.

How many games this year alone have we lost at home as 8,9,10 point favorites or more? The Nuggets were 34-7 at home this year, and 30-7 when favorites (4-0 as dogs -- Memphis in December, Boston in January, and then 2 games late April where we were resting players but beat GSW and Sac anyway.) Of the 7 home losses: Knicks (-2 game line) Pistons (-11.5) Mavs (-4.5) Thunder (-3) Bulls (-8.5) Nets (-9) Pels (-2) .. but the Bulls/Nets/Pels losses were during the part of the year the team was mailing it in. So how many times did we lose a home game this year, when big favorites, and not coasting? Just the Pistons game. Weird AF game. But hardly suggests a pattern of collapsing in games where we're strong favorites.

Watching Joker's presser it can't be stated enough how lucky we are to have him. An All-Time great with that kind of talent who has no interest in the spotlight and won't even call himself the best player on the team. Just insanely humble. Yeah there's some annoying moments at times in the regular season where Jokic could average 30 a night if that's what he wanted. If he had that ego/aggression. That would likely mean he's not a Denver Nugget tho.
I hope when it's all said and done it'll get alot more attention across the NBA and you'll see the credit. Being the best player in the NBA .. even if alot of media thinks it's arguable without having that insane ego/desire to be that guy is truly one of the craziest things I've ever seen in sports. Who else would even be considered? Someone who was among the best but legitimately didn't care if he was even an All-Star? If he scored 10 points or 30 points? has to be the GOAT team oriented NBA player for sure and might even be across all sports. Only player I've ever seen that was unselfish to the point where he's maybe even his biggest flaw as a player.

Very humble, never put himself before team, was ready to sacrifice his stats... During his tenure San Antonio was team of modesty, for 20 years in NBA he had no scandals, we don't know anything about his personal life other that as soon as league was done, he was going back home to Virgin Islands and swim... He has no social media and never spoke about anything other then basketball. Spent his whole career in one team and was never associated with any trades despite playing during superteam era. No wonders Jokic wants to be Nuggets Duncan
