Teams that have at least 5 days worth of a rest advantage over their opponent and game 1 at home are 8-1 in game 1s and 8-1 in Finals series overall. The only series loss was the Jazz vs the Last Dance Bulls.

Trap game. Everyone thinks Nuggets will win every quarter and win every game easily. This is the game we shake off rust, and it’s possible if not likely we will find ourselves down by double digits in the first half due to some cold outside shooting. I still expect us to win but don’t expect a cakewalk. Ring, you need to promise to retire your “Fire Malone!” mantra and narrative forevermore, even if we lose in the Finals. I just hope Malone continues to have a GOAT coaching playoff run. |

It's not a must win game. It definitely is a must win game. Miami beat Milwaukee, NY Knicks and Celtics in game 1. 1st quarter is going to be very crucial |

This is the best matchup for Jokic no doubt about it. But this is also a good matchup for Murray even if he's guarded by Butler. Jimmy is not going to face guard Murray. No way those tired legs can do it. Vincent can't guard Murray as he's minimum 2" shorter than Jamal. And then MPJ. Are we going to witness at least one or 2 games where he shoots 7 for 9 from 3. It's time for that to happen too. Some scrubs are getting those # that are not even close as good shooters as Mike. Very excited about the game tomorrow. I hope those rested legs are flying on defense

rust thing is stupid. Jimmy would sell one kidney to have 10 days rest, cause that dude is banged up...
as for Nuggets, same as usual. bring focus and intensity. and do not remove your foot from the gas. Heat is mentally tough, they will not shrink like Suns did once we got to double digit lead...
I hope we see Monte Morris, Will Barton, Uncle Paul and Gary Harris tonight. Probably not happening, especially with Barton, but they deserve to be on the stands if they wish for. Also, Wilson Chandler, Manimal, Mason Plumlee, Torey f**kface Craig, but first four are kind of more important if you ask me...
btw, I know we are waiting for this for almost 50 years, but this exact journey started 8 years ago against Houston Rockets. On October 28th 2015(yeah, thats how long it was), Denver Nuggets beat Houston Rockets 105-85.

It's a seven game series, brother. You want every game. But you're not a championship team if Ball Arena is on fire because they lose the first game in the Finals. I thought playing from ahead was important in the Lakers series, too. But if losing a home game or falling behind a game is a death sentence for this team, they're not made of the right stuff to hold that trophy up. (They are made of that stuff) |

I don't think it's a must win. There's never a truly "must win" early on in game 7's but there's must wins in the sense that if you don't your making to things much more difficult for yourself. I don't think game 1 is that for Denver.
It'll suck and drive up the panic but this Nuggets team is good enough across the board to fight back vs Miami. As good as Miami has been and can be there's a clear talent difference that'll leave the door open for Denver even if they come out and struggle early on. You saw it with Boston. They gave Boston every chance but Brown/Tatum were awful. It won't be be easy but it's going to take a big time disappointment from Denver IMO.
