This Memphis team man, what a bunch of losers They're fine in the West, if by "fine" they mean "the fishing is mighty fine on the lakes in Minnesota right now"... I’m trying to visualize Ja Morant fishing on a Minnesota lake. OK — that was a failed thought experiment.

let's wish Mr. Embiid the best and not incite any backlash from the bball gods.

Whatever's going to happen is going to happen regardless of what I say. Superstition is for idiots.
I do wish Embiid the best. I want the Sixers to knock Boston out. They won't, but that's what I want. Criticizing Embiid for being glass doesn't mean I'm glad he's hurt.

obviously nobody actually believes in superstition, but you occasionally give off the impression you're harboring a personal grudge against Embiid, which is kind of like personally hating Stone Cold Steve Austin for "stealing" the championship belt from The Rock.
it's not that serious. you look petty. calm down and let it go.

Facu was an entertaining player in his 1st season with us ...he had his moments ...where is he these days? Edit: He is with a Serbian team (effect of playing with Jokic?! lol) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facundo_Campazzo

If nobody believes in superstition then why are half the damn posts on this forum superstitious nonsense? And no, I don't have a grudge against Embiid. I do think anybody who ever considered him close to the same level of player as Jokic is an idiot, though, and I will continue to point out reasons why. If he wants to spend 3 years bitching and moaning about the MVP award it's going to invite extra criticism in situations like these. It's not my fault he's literally gotten hurt every year since high school.

It was just smoke and mirrors propping up his numbers from playing with the starters.

Memphis still had a good team.
What killed them is that, ultimately:
They are SOFT.

Memphis still had a good team. What killed them is that, ultimately: They are SOFT. Yup. Which is an awful recipe when your that cocky and talk that much trash. Especially against a team with established vets. I love trash talking in sports and love when you get teams that don't give a s**t but you gotta be able to back it up. For some teams it can fuel them but for a team like Memphis who's soft it just added extra pressure.

bottom line, Memphis is a second-tier playoff contender that lacks the upper tier talent to seriously compete for a championship. their best player was the third best player in the series. you can off-set that deficit with Kings-like chemistry (which the Grizzlies certainly did not possess) but if the Kings advance in the playoffs, it will be more difficult for them to beat the odds.

I’m deeply impressed with Calvin Booth’s 5D chess playing.
Very decent chance the WCF is: nuggets vs lakers
Right now, LA’s biggest Achilles heal is minimal bench scoring, minimal size, and certainly no good backup option for AD. The backup option was Thomas Bryant (!!!) who was killing it for them.
However, Bryant voiced displeasure, and Calvin didn’t miss a beat, sending over seconds to get him. I’m still surprised by this because Pelinka is a damn good GM. In what universe are you trading such a good player for seconds?
Which gets me to: I know Thomas Bryant has been terrible on our team. BUT — removing him from the lakers has severely hurt them. If we get into the WCF, against the lakers, our bench unit facing Bryant may have been the factor that loses the series for us.
When Bryant became available, booth didn’t hesitate, and I don’t think he cared whether Bryant played well for us or not - the bigger goal was to injure the lakers.
Booth-5D.
