Not sure anyone refused max money to retire. Most of the cases are player on the lower end of the salary range with some long lingering health or mental issues. You still get to end your career in mid 30s and enjoy life, at a point many others start building their careers. Once you have such an offer in front of you it's hard to say no.
Times of being worried Jokic might just quit basketball are long behind us. Other stars cruise games as well, just in a different ways - mostly settling for and chucking longer range shots.

Jokic is taking the craziest shots in the world and is too-3 I think his BPM and WS stats are even crazier considering he spent the first ~1.5 seasons of his career as a bench guy/occasional power forward. If you just look at his numbers since he became the full time starting center they're just plain insane.

Milestones coming up for Jokic soon for blocks, and he still should likely catch Melo on both the points and minutes lists this year. Won't be much longer before Jamal catches Ralph Simpson for 9th in assists. Porter will probably catch Chandler next game in 3s, and Harris won't be long after that.

Gotta add Michael Malone victory numbers in the next update. He´s getting close to Karl and Moe.

Doubt he'll surpass Moe this season, but passing Karl with 24 more wins is not out of reach. Either way he'll get that #1 spot next season. And at that point I guess he's guaranteed a jersey retirement in the future, whenever he officially retires from coaching.

I'd say all three Ball Arena teams currently have the best coach in their respective histories. We're lucky to have Jared Bednar, Michael Malone, and Pat Coyle. Too bad about Sean Payton and Bud Black.

I'll do the next update when Joker gets Danny Schayes for blocks. Needs 4 to tie, 5 to pass him.

I'd say all three Ball Arena teams currently have the best coach in their respective histories. We're lucky to have Jared Bednar, Michael Malone, and Pat Coyle. Too bad about Sean Payton and Bud Black. Black can do nothing for that God-foresaken franchise. He may not be part of the solution. But he isn’t the problem. Rockies are projected by Fangraphs to have the fewest wins in MLB this season at 64. And that would be a five game improvement from last year. I was a baseball fan long before I became a basketball fan. Willie Mays was my childhood hero. The Rockies are the worst team I’ve suffered with in over 60 years of following the sport, and I see nothing that will change it. Sure they might get hot for a year or two by 2030 and sneak into playoffs as a wildcard. But they will remain losers under the current ownership which is worse than Comsat or Ascent was with the Nuggets.

Bud Black has 4 .500 seasons and 1 singular playoff victory in 16 seasons as a manager for two different franchises. He's a clown.
The Rockies may be a fiasco but he's noticeably and significantly worse than guys like Don Baylor or Clint Hurdle.

Doesn’t matter who would manage the rosters Schmidt puts together anyway.
