Wow I was laughing so hard during this video. Although, someone might not find this funny at all.

I remember watching Jokic for the first time during the 2014 Nike Hoop Summit and thinking he would be a good running mate to Mudiay. funny how life turns out.

Long live Nikola Jokic.
This dude being here today is the kind of s**t they make sports movies about.
A reminder to all of us - turn off ESPN. Log off Twitter. Who cares what this radio guy from this other city says. I was here with most of y'all in 2014 for the draft. We were desperate for hope. We didn't have a clue what happened that night even if all of us acted like we did. And that rules.
How can you not be romantic about basketball?

btw long time ago (Jokic's second season, maybe even first) there was this semi-crazy guy on reddit preaching based on advanced stats that Jokic is going to be an absolute superstar. IIRC he was spamming so much with his take that he got himself banned there.
Wondering what happed to that guy and if/how is he celebrating Jokic's MVP award today...

IIRC he was spamming so much with his take that he got himself banned there. Thing is — that guy wasn’t semi-crazy about this. Jokic’s WS/48 his rookie season was .185, almost as high as Steph Curry’s this season. Rookie season TS% of 58%. I don’t know why (I guess word filtered out about how good Jokic was), but I watched a bunch of Mega games on YouTube the season after Jokic was drafted and it was obvious he was an absolute draft steal. If they had pulled him out of the 2014 draft (which his agent was close to doing), he likely would have been a lottery pick in 2015 after being MVP of the Adriatic league in his age 19-20 season. The Nuggets probably still pass on him at #7 since they already had Nurkic. Tons of luck for the Nuggets and for us. BTW, who in the hell gave their first place vote to Derrick Rose?

You know what else was lucky? Losing that game 82 in overtime at Minnesota on April 11th, 2018. Because Jokic was fatigued and missed a key shot while defended by Taj Gibson, it prevented us from the playoffs but was of Jokic’s best assists ever. That’s because it kept us at #14 in the draft, which we used to pick MPJ. If we win that game in Minny, MPJ would likely be playing with another team right now. Rock has it all wrong. It’s the NUGGETS, not the Blazers, who are truly blessed!

I said crazy because of how fanatically he was pushing his narrative/prophecy. "semi-" part because the advanced stats were real. At that time even discussion about Nerlens Noel Okafor (even worse) vs Jokic looked realistic...

I believe he's now preaching the gospel of Isiah Hartenstein lol. Aside from volume, all of Jokic’s stats — and winning impact — were real from day 1. Frankly, I thought it was pretty clear from those 2014-15 Mega games that Jokic was an incredible talent, as he was already doing at 19 (against professional players, not kids) much of what we’ve seen him do in the NBA (the rebounding, the touch, the incredible hands, the passing), and the Adriatic league is no joke. Playing most of that season at age 19, Jokic averaged 16.5 points/9.7 rebounds/3.2 assists/1.4 steals/1.0 blocks on 52.5% FG shooting. He transitioned straight into the same kind of all-around efficient, intelligent game in the NBA. Of course the league is better, but Jokic was also bound to get better than he was at 19-20.

IIRC you were also high on Cancar based on his Mega games, while I was claiming Cancar is not an NBA player and you have to be careful about exposure and stats in Mega. Jokic was clearly talented and based on his Mega games I thought he could be a decent NBA player, a fringe starter, but a lot better one in Europe if he stays, because of his lack of physical tools for an NBA level. I, and may, have underestimated how freaking out of shape he's been in Mega, now famously not being able to do a single push up when he came there.
there is yet an NBA season to happen where Jokic doesn't surprise me with his progress...
