How will Jokic ducking the pels and throwing the 1st seed affect MVP voting? Lmao Meaningless game for mvp vote at the moment but this loss can play a big part down the road. Resting Jokic last night and playing him tonight to try to get one win is just stupid. This tells you what Malone has in his head How is any game meaningless in an MVP voting?

This tells you what Malone has in his head How is any game meaningless in an MVP voting? Because voters don't look at every game when deciding the vote. If you watched enough TV shows or podcasts where the voters are explaining what they use for their votes you would know why some games are not important.

Pelicans are a great matchup for Jokic. Come on Erik. He absolutely obliterates JV every single time they play and he would have done the same last night.
Embiid is winning MVP. I don't understand why people can't accept this. Unless the Sixers lose out, it's a lock at this point. Embiid has the narrative and the media behind him. It'll be the difference.

This is true, i based it off my memory and i felt like the Nuggets as a team have struggled against the Pelicans

Watching the real voters lately, it looks like Jokic is not winning it this time. The narrative is all on Embiid at the moment but it may switch to Giannis after today's game. That bad Denver stretch costed them the best record and at the same time will cost Jokic the mvp. If it's not Jokic I would give it to Giannis and never to a coward

to be honest, I'm not over the Nuggets plain quitting for 10 straight days and I'm a Nuggets fan, it reminded me of the good ol 1-2-3 Cancun Shawful days. I can't imagine what some casual from NY or LA with no attachment to this team thought of that.

Sucks Jokic likely won't get the MVP now but maybe with all the press/smoke he's just saying f**k it? Especially with what Perkins created and Embiid being a b***h to the media. I dunno. We've seen the Nuggets play guys without rest. We've seen Malone rage and put players back into games when it's not exactly needed. We know with Doc Rivers/Embiid that it's not just a coach thing but an entire gameplan with the players have a big say in what's happening. Some combination of the medical staff/Malone/Jokic clearly doesn't have him out there knowing the MVP was right there for the taking.
We'll see how things finish up but it's pretty clear nobody on the Nuggets cares about the MVP at this point. Hopefully he's not actually banged up that badly.

Im happy he is prioritizing his body/ducking over MVP. It really is championship or bust

It looks like the media narrative has shifted from Embiid to Giannis. Kendrick Perkins said he is going to vote for Giannis
If Embiid and Giannis split votes, that will definitely benefit Jokic

I think that Jokic's voters will still vote for Jokic and some Embiid's voters will switch to Giannis. There is an old saying that goes something like this: Where there is a heavy battle between the 2, the third one will benefit from it lol

Sixers with Embiid: .652 winning percentage 114.5 PPG 40.4 RPG 25.1 APG 7.5 SPG 4.9 BPG
Sixers without Embiid: .688 winning percentage 118.4 PPG 43.3 RPG 25.6 APG 8.6 SPG 4.2 BPG
He shouldn't even finish in the top 3.
