Seems likely the Lakers get in. Clippers feel most likely to fade, but they've hung tough all year. I'm here for the Lakers missing the playoffs this year. Would be amazing. Just doesn’t seem right

IMO Kings will make the playoffs. Very young talented team with a GREAT chemistry in the team/organization - it kind of reminds me of the nuggets in that part. Now Kings play super fast and fight until the end, very different from the last season. They have great home support and Buddy Heild is awesome (46% 3PT!).

I wouldn't exclude Kings either although it's going to be very difficult for them. They're the only team with the cap space and intensivly looking to bring one or 2 good players in the next 2-3 weeks

The Kings are a nice story.
They're also 100% not making the playoffs this year.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Beyond the Lakers and Knicks, the Pelicans have been made aware of “a handful” of teams that Anthony Davis would be willing to sign long-term with upon a trade, league sources tell ESPN. Boston isn’t included on that list.

Supposedly it's only two others, the Clippers and Bucks. So 4 teams total and only 2 (who play in the same city) have the ability to trade for him...so, why even have a list? Just say you want to go to LA and stop being a b***h.

AD “I want to win. Here are 4 teams I want to play for”
Only 1 of them is in the top 12 of the nba
Makes sense

the guys on HQ are savage about the yelling at Luke Walton -- particularly, that when guys like JaVale McGee and Michael Beasley and Lance Stephenson (he claims it wasn't him) feel like they're the veteran voices who need to yell at the coach, and nobody else in the locker room is going to tell them they're out of line, you've reached an unsalvageable state. Like, those guys are basically a Shaqtin'a'fool Trinity, and when they're able to act like that and you don't have real leaders step up and say "guys chill the f**k out"... your entire org is going into the trash.

Imagine the position the lakers would be in if you remove their biggest advantage- geography. No lebron. No AD. A bunch of 2nd pick busts and maybe 30-35 wins this year. And I think they traded their first? But the lure of Los angles and the lifestyle that comes with it is hiding the team and front office incompetence Must be nice to always have a get out of jail card at your disposal.

The Pelicans seem focused on Tatum, which would mean an offseason trade. If I'm New Orleans, I think I'd embrace the package of Ingram, Ball, Kuzma and picks. That's three young players to build with. Use the Laker picks plus your own picks to build a team that can grow together. Follow the TC Nuggets model and hope your "Jokic" emerges.

I dont see Boston trading Tatum for a guy that wont extend and will leave for Lakers a year later

I thunk this is all posturing my Klutch to get him to LA.
I think if this gets to the summer and especially if Kyrie stays, AD's tone may change.
But agreed. Tatum won't be on the table if they're not sure.

But more broadly, Denver doesn't need to gut their team for AD. LA is desperate, and their assets are good/not great. It would mean NO is enamored with Jamal or Gary or MPJ to get this moving the way they are enamored with Tatum.
Then you move away from five players plus four picks and what not if they value certain guys highly.
Pelicans playing this perfectly by taking this to the summer and pitting LA against more teams, even if they eventually go with LA in the end. They're completely desperate. Get everything from them.
Nuggs aren't desperate. I don't see it unless NO is super high on one or our prospects.
I think Denver could part with one or two guys and be fine. If NO demanded a Melo-like package from Denver, not sure it makes sense like it does for teams who can recruit more stars in FA.
I don't think Murray or Harris or Beasley individually should stop an AD trade. But if they want everyone? No thanks.

Denver is in such a good spot, in terms of having enough assets that we could make a move for a top-tier player or any lower-tier player *and still have plenty of depth*, and simultaneously not being desperate to make such a move. So we can look at a guy like AD or Griffin and decide whether we want that guy and their contract, and if we do, make an offer but not be in big trouble if the offer gets rejected.
