turns out playoff experience is extremely important in these situations, unless you're the Denver Nuggets of course.

Nucks just had to torment their fanbase one last time. bring on the Stars. time for them too riot on the streets as is tradition. you'd think Vancouver would be more mellow considering they have the only livable winters in Canada.

So the last 2 weeks the worst in ball arena history? Nug 1-3 (one blowout, and a choke job in gm 7,) Avs 0-3 ( only score 3 goals total) eliminated at home also Mammoth also missed the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. Who the f**k cares

Mammoth also missed the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. Who the f**k cares You care enough to comment on it every single time. You care enough to quote me even though I forgot you even existed these last few weeks. So why don't you just go to a Euroleague forum where you can talk about Markus Howard and Facundo Campazzo dominating your league of choice.

But was worse over the course of the season I understand your point but they had a chance to win the title on the last day of the season is what I meant to convey. If the team ahead of them had lost or gotten a draw, they'd have won was my understanding. But I didn't actually watch and I don't actually follow, I just saw some Avs fans teams talking about the other Kroenke teams elsewhere online. I guess the Arsenal women won something relevant this year, at least. A Cup of some sort. I think they've actually been the most successful Kroenke team of all.

Maybe Clark's popularity will help convince the Kroenkes to finally buy in. As far as I know the billionaire ownership group from last year is still trying to get us a team, they just don't have a venue without the Kroenkes.

WNBA Toronto is finally officially official. 115 million dollar expansion fee, will be owned by Larry Tanenbaum of MLSE (the group who own Toronto's NHL, NBA, MLS, CFL, AHL, G-League, and MLS-Next clubs). They will play in the 8500 seat Coca-Cola Coliseum, which is also where the AHL's Toronto Marlies play.
The WNBA board voted 13-0 to approve expansion while the NBA board (who must be consulted due to the NBA's financial stake in the league) voted 29-1.
The 1 "no" vote was Knicks owner James Dolan, who is being petty in an intellectual property lawsuit against the Raptors.
They will begin play in 2026, after the Golden State Valkyries begin next year.
The Commissioner said they still are confident of getting two more squads by 2028. Denver, Philadelphia, Portland, Charlotte, Miami, and Nashville are still the contenders.

Go Denver !! I loved the X-Plosion. It all comes down to the Kroenkes. The WNBA has made it clear that the Denver Coliseum is unacceptable under any circumstances, and that Magness Arena does not have the parking to support 7000+ noncampus fans for nearly two dozen home games (depending on preseason/playoffs). Ball Arena is the only suitable venue, and it's probably too expensive for an independent owner to lease. WNBA, NLL, AHL, and G-League level operations generally need to play in a building controlled by team ownership in order to have a chance at turning a profit. With affiliated ownership they don't have to pay rent and they get to keep the parking and concessions revenue; with unaffiliated ownership they probably have to pay over 30 grand per game to rent the building and then the Kroenkes keep the concessions and parking. Our best hope is something similar to the setup the old AFL's Colorado Crush had from 2002-2008. John Elway and Pat Bowlen were the primary money behind the team and Elway was the guy steering the ship both publicly and behind the scenes, but Kroenke had his own percentage and this allowed the team the full benefits of the venue. Hopefully the ownership group from last year can get a similar arrangement, giving Stan a percentage of the team in exchange for use of the arena. If Stan wanted to be majority owner of a WNBA franchise he could make that happen anytime with a single phone call and he hasn't done it yet, so presumably he doesn't want to, but he might be able to be convinced to buy a minority share. That's how he started out with the Rams, Arsenal, and Arsenal WFC; he bought a minority share with the right of first refusal to purchase the rest, and eventually did when it was to his advantage.
