In a game where we played our best ball against LA and still lost, I can't feel real confident. Just like you guys are saying such and such didn't play good, neither did Gasol or any of their other players. Everyone basically played bad and it came down to Kobe and Carmelo. Lakers won because Carmelo didn't get the ball. That's as simple as it is. We can't expect Gasol to play that bad again. We can't expect Carmelo to be that efficient again. We can't expect Kobe to shoot that bad again. We can't expect JR to play that bad again. And most importantly, we can't expect to outshoot them from the line again, especially with the Kobe/Lebron finals being so close. This was our best chance for a win and we blew it. The refs even let us play physical as hell and we still lost. This game showed me that we can compete with them. But like I've always said, when JR is in with Carmelo, Carmelo gets frozen out. We can expect that every game because it happens every time they're in together. But hey, what do I know. I'm just a Melo homer. I agree with many points here. But when you say the lakers bigs didn't have good games--your talking about points. Our ball denial was excellent-- and our defense was superb-- Kenyon was great on both Gasol and Odom and Bird and Nene were solid. Those 3 guys are quite capable of playing that way defensively against the Lakers bigs.

A short point guard doesnt stand a big chance passing over lamar odom. When AC saw that he should have called it and gotten bird or Kmart to inbound it. Instead he tried to force it where there obviously wasnt a play. Size had everything to do with how that play went down Ariza stole it though, not Odom. The play was called the way it was. AC should have faked the pass to get Ariza to bite, but other than that I don't see how it was his fault. You dont see how throwing it to the other team in a situation that important is his fault? Are you his mom?

anthony carter is a trending topic on twitter. lol all for being a shitty player! It's cool to call AC the goat after tonight, just likes it's been cool his whoel Nugget career-- but he's been great this year and is a huge prt of the team's newfound character.

PUT IN BALKMAN OVER CARTER PUT IN BALKMAN OVER CARTER PUT IN BALKMAN OVER CARTER PUT IN BALKMAN OVER CARTER One thing no one has talked about is how LA extends their defense. Playing Ac and Billups is a good counter-measure to the Lakers pressing sort of defense with their guards. AC is going to have some real good playmaking games in this series if LA wants to play like that with him in. Asking Chauncey to play 40 minutes of beating presses- plus his scoring load as a need-- we simply won't have a chance. That's why our biggest need is a combo guard and NOT ANOTHER BIG.

You must've missed one of my points because like I said, the refs aren't going to let us play that physical every game. The refs allowed both teams to play and the Lakers almost lost because of that. We already know the league wants LA in the finals. Therefor, we have to force our way into winning these games. Knowing the game was this close, allowing us to play physical, I can't imagine the Lakers not getting a few more calls on our aggressive ball denial.

hey guys, Billups and Pistons fan here.
Just wanted to put in my 2 cents on the game today. You guys had them in the beginning, and limited the fakers to 33% shooting in the first half. Despite this, you guys still lost. However, at the same time you showed that you can contain them, that it's not an impossible task no matter how colossal.
Finally, know this: every championship team has faced adversity, probably none so much as the 04 Pistons. The nuggets haven't until today. This was supposed to be your statement game, and only more people think it's the lakers series to loose. Are your guys going to back down or get back up? One thing I saw, and I may be reading too much into this, is seeing JR jog back into the lockerroom after falling hard after the game. The fact that he didn't trudge back like a fallen soldier is a good sign for you guys.

Not sure what size has to do with that. AC is normally a pretty good passer. It was a bonehead move though. Who else should have made the pass? A short point guard doesnt stand a big chance passing over lamar odom. When AC saw that he should have called it and gotten bird or Kmart to inbound it. Instead he tried to force it where there obviously wasnt a play. Size had everything to do with how that play went down karls fault. ac should have never been put in that situation, let alone even be in the game. kmart is arguably our best touch passer. karl is an idiot.

But I don't think a less physical game hurts us ifwe are aggressive attacking offensively.

"big shot" has to miss 2 consecutive free throws to completely s**t on all of our momentum in that 1st quarter. seems like he misses at the worst f***ing times. i knew the game was over much like i knew it was over after he botched the technical foul call in new orleans.
