only a rumor but hear me out...
marko jaric - the star euro pg the clips drafted 2 years ago and finally signed. well apparently he isnt all that happy with the dre trade (not pissed but expressed concern about playing time and development). the clips now have dre and dooling.
i wondered about him after the trade and then i read a post by a clip fan that there might be rumors of him to denver - could be pure bs and totally made up.
but even so it makes sense. what position do we need the most? point guard.
the kid is european.
hes young.
hes cheap.
hes probably available.
and the nuggets have insisted they are NOT done making moves. im not saying anything is going on but it does make some sense. posey, an expiring contract, for jaric, a young pg? thoughts?

Hey, that'll give Skits a fellow continental man to hang with. I bet they'd be both happy with that.

A good trade for both teams would be for us to trade Mark Jackson to the play-off bound Clippers and we get Jaric. Might have to use the trade exception or pay part of his salary but it could probably be done.
That being said, I still like Kenny as our starting PG. If he stumbles, it would be nice to have a guy like Jaric.

Posey seems like way too high a price unless you guys know something I don't. We could get more for Pose even with the expiring contract. Do you think he's worth the lower of our two 1st rounders (most likely the Bucks pick) next year?
Isn't he a pretty tall guard, like 6'5" or something? We've already got some height, a tall pg could really cause some matchup problems.

Maybe Skita and Jaric could speak Croatian?
How about Jackson and a second rounder. Now that would be a steal. Jaric would be a mid first rounder today.

Don't tell Okie (or Stith23).
Actually, that reminds me of a story I failed to relate about the open tryout.
Vicki and Russ were excitedly talking to John Salley, and I believe she was wearing her number 23 (or she mentioned it). Salley asks, "Who's that?", and Vicki said, "Bryant Stith!". Salley makes funny face implying he doesn't think much of Stith. Vicki is still happy to meet John, but not thrilled with his reaction.

I dont think they can trade Jaric since he just signed his contract so the soonest would be in december if im correct cuz this is his rookie contract... Im just surprised that the cavs didnt ask for him along with miles.. Paxson is an idiot...But jaric would be a nice addition here...He is 6'7 200 plays both guard spots......
and even though i havent seen jaric ever play (hardly even highlites), id take him over harrington and arroyo any day of the week, and probably satterfield 6 days a week.
nah i have to disagree.. Jaric plays more like a 2 than a 1.. He only had like 2ast / game on his euro team.....

no kidding - how come the cavs didnt at least get wilcox or ely. the clips would have done it if the cavs stayed tough.
looks like they are trying to match our rebuilding route. unfortunately they are stuck with bad contracts in murray and Z preventing them from getting mad cap space like us.

a couple weeks ago i had a conversation with a friend of mine who works for the bologna basketball team and he had some interesting stories about jaric. his main asset is his competitiveness. he sounds like a real prick and he lets it show on the court. he's super tough. i guess he had to play in some semifinals while nato was bombing yugoslavia and he couldn't get in touch with his family, but still went out and ripped s**t. there was also another story of him joining his team as a teenager and taking over during his first practice. apparently he just started ordering people around and if someone missed a shot he would call them out and say, "you don't shoot anymore." i get the impression this is an even bigger deal in europe cause the teams there place more importance on seniority and experience. then there's the story that he made mark madsen a first round pick. he went to the chicago pre-draft camp 2 years ago and the only other white guy on his team was mad dog. so apparently for this reason the only guy he passes to is madsen. and he sets him up so nicely that madsen looks like a scorer. so i guess he's a racist. my friend went so far as to say he wouldn't be surprised to hear of jaric supporting milosevic. but that's just speculation, not like the clearly true rumor about him and madsen. in any case when the miller trade went down this is just what i was thinking. jaric is probably pissed. i think the best thing would be for the clipps to keep him and he helps ruin team chemistry, so the clipps go in the lottery again and sterling decides brand and miller aren't worth it. perfect.

Yeah.... thats what a young impressionable team like the nugs need.... I agree with fats... hold out for Miller next year... and score the top pick, that's Miller and James in the backcourt...

Murray's contract is about 4 mil a year. That isn't too bad for 16 ppg and 5 boards. Maybe that is just me though huh?
