OK Johnson just said he is staying withUtah. Harris said today was his deadline as well. What does this mean? Is Harris the guy? Or is it the RMR coach?

I wasn't too psyched about Johnson anyway.
I didn't know Harris set a deadline. Well, if he was still in the running we'd probably hear about conversations going on today so I guess he's out too. Just a guess.

but we didnt offer and we had plenty of time to think about it. thus kiki did not want johnson to be our coach.

There are three things that could be happening IMHO.
1. Kiki decided not to hire Phil and wanted Johnson to announce that it was HIS choice to drop out. Then Kiki would wait a day or two and announce his choice.
2. We are looking in an entirely new direction and this just came up. Perhaps Brown or Van Gundy or ? suddenly showed interest.
3. Kiki is trying to get Del as a senior exec (like Dallas did with Nelson) AND sign Bzelik (sp?). This would definitely be a big win but is it possible?

I think it's #2. IMO, Van Gundy probably called Kiki and told him he's interested in the job.
