Malone for not playing Huff last year and Booth for not matching his two-way offer. He was a god damn restricted free agent just like Gillespie. We could've kept him for free.

And Gillespie hits a 3 in his first minute on the floor with the Suns.

Did I watch Pickett, Tyson, Gillespie, and Huff play more in the G-League than Booth and Malone last year?
Seems that way. We know all the players loved CG, and look at how happy they were in one of the two games where Huff got 5 minutes of playing time last year:

Bernie Satan (TNF remembers) once drafted a guy from Greece that he never saw play and he never came to America. Let’s hope Booth isn’t that way!

I tried to tell yall last December I'm ready to see Jay Huff get a game as the 2C. I find it hard to believe he'd be worse than DJ and Zeke. There was no reason to extend Zeke and there was absolutely no reason to re-sign DJ this summer. Huff would have been a nice weapon

So yea those guys are absolute idiots

Why you not keeping the Murray energy for Malone? he doesn't get a free pass for not playing the 7 foot 2 inch tall dude with the current career shooting splits of 59/46/95 the hell did we have to lose last season with zeke and DJ?

Looks like they're playing Huff at the 4. With 7-0 Aldama. We should do more of that instead we play everyone on bench unit a position above their natural one. So that everyone is undersized. Like Saric has looked awful but we are doing no favors with who we've put around him. PWat has played the 4 both games had zero rebounds last night. I'm now starting to think it dot matter who the backup 5 is when Malone constructs the rotation the way he does. I'd honestly rather see Saric and Zeke together then to have PWat at 4. Nnaji would doacecthe floor better then PWat and would theoretically help with rebounding. We went to it one time yesterday but MPJ should be playing more bench minutes. Having said that he needs to actually give the bench some scoring punch which he did none of yesterday.

Not giving him a free pass. But firing him over Jay Huff would be legit insanity Im not gonna pretend i knew Huff was great either, like i see people do right now smh Rather credit Fami than pretend this was super obvious.

Huff never got a chance. That's the issue.
Even Pickett got a good shot early in the season.
Why not Huff when the back up centres were pure trash?

The thing is, if you actually watch G-League games you can pretty easily pick out the guys who are at least fringe NBA guys. Gillespie, Huff, Key, Watson, White. These are guys that all showed me enough to at least want to see them in NBA games. White turned out to simply not have the size to be an NBA PF, but it was clear he was beyond nearly everyone else in the G at least.
I can't tell you with a straight face I thought Huff would come out shooting like he has this year, but I thought he warranted a look. That's all.
Conversely, it was pretty easy to tell with guys like Pickett, Tyson, and Funk that something was missing. And it's not immediately obvious just by looking at their stats, but if you watch two or three games it's clear what you're seeing.
My point is that I'm just a dude who watches basketball. If I can make these calls, people that are paid to make them should be doing better. Because I don't know s**t.

If all you have to do is watch GLeague to see how obviously great Huff was, and not one single NBA team signed him to a regular roster spot. Are you saying no scout in the NbA watch gleague? Actual scouts watch games differently

Actual scouts watch games differently Did you not at all read the post you quoted where I said I didn't predict his ridiculous start to this season and that I don't know s**t? All I said was that if you watched him play in the G-League, it should have been very obvious he warranted a look. Nothing more, nothing less. He stood out as very, very obviously a level above the other dudes on the court. Braxton Key will likely never amount to anything in the league, either. I still believe he warrants a look. That's all. We literally had these guys on our roster with our bigs playing like crap. All I'm saying is maybe we should've put them into a few games to see what they could do.
