the 2nds are a dummy tax for giving Reggie a PO when he had no leverage. but whatever. I don't to have to watch Reggie in a Nugget uniform anymore. Alexa, play I'm Walking On Sunshine. Just wait for Calvin to force Pickett inn You might miss Reggie

Lotta truth about the player options and giving away picks. Because our D- front office got upgraded to a C And all the A and B front offices and agents are taking advantage Lmao D front office drafted Jokic, Murray, MPJ, a lot of quality bench players and traded for AG Insane take

They signed 2 players to two way contracts.
PJ Hall is listed at 6-foot-8, 235 pounds. He played four seasons at Clemson, averaging 18.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. He shot 39.8% from 3 as a junior and hit 31.5% last season. Former college teammate of Nuggets forward Hunter Tyson.
And a guard from creighton Trey Alexander. Alexander is a mid-range technician who averaged 17.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists as a junior last season for the Bluejays.

It doesn't matter much what the Nuggets do this offseason unless somehow they get a couple of superstars to play with them for next to nothing. After their horrible collapse against the Wolves with their depleted roster and the significant likelihood that what they got ain't gonna get no better, the Nuggets should be glad they got their one title and now can fade into NBA oblivion. It was fun while it lasted. They simply can't keep up with the other premier teams in this league. So, look for a run of middle of the road finishes and a complete inability to ever return to serious contention. Fading stars, no money to sign new ones and a weak ass bench spells mediocrity until they completely fade away like the Trail Blazers.
Sure, they can give a bunch of money to Murray who will get hurt and miss significant time in the playoffs and lose Jackson with no replacement for him off the bench or from free agents cuz they got no money to pay anyone after giving it away to Murray and the totally inconsistent Gordon and MPJ. So, after they lose Pope what are they gonna do: resign Carmelo Anthony? Face it, unfortunately, this team has seen its best days and will never again repeat those good times.
The team is supposedly getting ready to offer Murray a 4 year contract worth $209M. So, an oft injured Murray alongside a fading Jokic (notice how he disappeared in games 6 and 7 against the Wolves and couldn't hit a 3 like he used to) along with Pope's replacement and an already faded Porter and Gordon with no bench leaves Denver with a team that might win its first round series in the next couple of years, but that is about it as the improving Wolves and OKC will run the Nuggets out of the arenas.

PJ Hall and Trey Alexander almost sound like copies of Hunter Tyson and Jalen Pickett.

I’m with JB. Sending of Reggie opens a roster spot up, and opens salary up - all good things.
If this is used on finding a competent scorer off the bench then it’s a perfect off season. Calvin already added more size with Holmes. Now let’s get the scorer!

At least Alexander seems much bigger than Pickett.
Alexander: 6'3.25" tall without shoes 8'5.5" standing reach 6'10.5" wingspan
Pickett: 6'2.0" tall without shoes 8'2.5" standing reach 6'7.25" wingspan

I hope we can “contend” for a couple more years like Milwaukee is doing. But it’s all downhill. No way to get better while everyone else is. Just sucks we don’t have half of our FRPs Would I trade it all for that one title? Yes 100 times out of 100 But 2027-2032 is going to be rough.

PJ Hall is a cool pick up.
Murray deal is disappointing for me. I just don't feel like he's really earned a max. He's a great player but he's not elite.
And yes, I know there are worse players with max contracts. That doesn't make it smart.
He better get his s**t together in the offseason. No more excuses.

Question is why now? Did he earned to get paid 50 per? Will someone give him more next summer if dont extend him now? Nope. I just dont see the reason to extend him now. Unlike if he shits the bed like he did this year, that contract will become unmovable and the worst since John Wall. Even Jokic (or his agent/brothers) may ask out in that scenario...

Remember that they did this early the first time they paid him too. Same with MPJ. Murrays floor is a very good player and his contract won't hurt the Nuggets unless he gets hurt. But you're now going all in with Murray as Jokics running mate his entire career/prime basically. Get a better team around them.

Many teams won't get that despite having good rosters. It is tough to win it all. But, the Nuggets won theirs while the league was taking a nap and there was little good competition. Now, that several teams have improved significantly, the Nuggets can't keep up. Look at the Denver choke job against the Wolves and then ask yourself how a weak ass team like the Mavs with one excellent player and one fading very good one could have demolished the same Wolve team that destroyed the even weaker ass Nuggets. Then get used to the idea that Denver won't be improving its roster anytime soon and will have to rely on a guy like Murray who is never around for the entire season and the totally inconsistent Porter and Gordon who couldn't put together two good games for any reason. Good they got that one title cuz there ain't no more comin' their way.

I wish that there is no cap space and that you can pay everone as much as you want. But with cap space, new CBA, 2nd apron, making hasty move like that is simply not smart. I bet that without extension Jamal would be in best condition, behaviour, production entire year (and earn all star/all nba) + playoffs and we could easily give him the 4-5 year max extension next summer. I am afraid that we are going to get even more cocky, arrogant, out of shape, lazy Jamal this year with even more freedom to act/play as #1 option on the team.

So, they take Jackson's $5 M saved and give it to Pope, which means they got the same team they had last year, including the inconsistent, weak Porter and Gordon. And, oh, the bench just got worse with Jackson gone. This team is headed downhill fast with no way to stop the inevitable crash.
