Did the bookies blackmail Porter? Just wondering. I've been a huge porter defender, but I think he's always going to struggle against high pressure defense. We can't rely on him, which is one of the many reasons it would be nice to have a legit 6th man. Too pricey for us, but a guy like Batum would work. I want a vet that can help us maintain some spacing when either Porter or Murray are struggling. He’s too old.

I'm ok with old guys as long as they can shoot. We need guys that don't get shook every time things go slightly wrong. Gotta be able to make open shots.

Obviously it was a combination of things. Our guys relaxing a bit now that it wasn't a "must win" game. Minnesota playing with a sense of urgency they haven't had to have the past few games, trying to keep their season alive. The crowd was electric and once we let them go on that first quarter run, that's all they needed for the rest of the game. I also think there was probably a separate psychological element for both teams going into the game knowing who the officiating crew was for tonight. The Wolves had more confidence playing extra physical and hacking, and conversely I think it made our guys play more timid and settle for jumpers early. Then once nothing was going in and the long rebounds led to so many easy points for Minnesota, they started pressing and rushing shots even when they were open.
It's been such a wild series. Basically every game has been a blowout, and yet we're going to a game 7. Momentum swings have been so big, and I feel like Minnesota definitely feeds off that. I trust Denver more to execute in the half court, but I still worry about the shooting variance. Not being able to hit open shots makes it really easy for them to double Jokic. Without Jokic being able to get some easy buckets in the post, it allows Minnesota to string together points. And once they get on a little run, they definitely feed off that momentum and lock in even more on defense. I imagine they're going to keep doubling Jokic hard and just try to rotate and closeout the best they can. They have the length and speed to still recover pretty well, but there will be open shots and driving lanes like there were tonight. Our guys have to knock down some jumpers/get to the rim and punish them for doubling, because it seems like they'll do anything besides let Jokic beat them in single coverage. Hopefully we'll actually get some calls when driving into the paint or getting hacked on the perimeter, because otherwise it really just bogs things down and that's when guys start rushing shots and getting frustrated.

Yeah, there's a snowball effect that gets magnified in the playoffs. You can't overreact to missing shots by trying to force things, but you can't just keep missing longs shots because you end up playing on your heels.

One thing is almost 100% for sure…our bench won’t go 4-27 shooting in game 7. The whole team won’t shoot 30% again.
It really all comes down to Jokic leading the way.

Mother of God, what was that? I wish I knew the answer as it's difficult taking this group seriously after that disaster. I'll admit I suspected the Wolves would win but didn't think the Nuggets would look like the Grand Rapids Gold in the process. Championship teams shouldn't be getting destroyed twice in one series as something is off with this group. I'm not buying Jamal's elbow as the reason for this game as he was missing shots before that occurred.

I have full confidence in Nuggets winning game 7 in their house, Jokic and AG will bring us WCF if noone else.
BUT hate the way they lost today, 45 points, cmon. They have to win by 46 now…. …(Just joking, 1 is enough 😉)

The starters are -50 in this series. They've been a MUCH MUCH MUCH bigger issue than the bench.

The struggles all trace to Murray and, recently, MPJ. Booth did a decent job last summer, but overdid the drafting of old college players and giving each one a standard NBA contract. Appears right now he whiffed on at least two of the three.

Really hard to understand what happened to Murray and MPJ… you can have a bad game, two, be just below average sometimes, noone gets 100%, noone in any job but to be this bad 8-9 games out of 11 for a professional athlete on top team that’s one of the favourites for championship 😳. Reality hope they overcame it and start playing as they are capable, but if I am betting my house on it, noone but Jokic and AG have my trust. All others hot and cold, some totally frozen.

Murray is hurt and mpj is a pussy it's that simple MPJ isn’t pussy. He played 81 games in regular season and 11 so far in postseason. With 92 games played, he’s spent. Back might be stiff, who knows. But his defensive mobility is gone, and his offensive lift on jumpshots appear limited to me. He needs a rest.

The defense on Murray and MPJ has been really good. MPJ needs to compete more to get himself space to operate and take the ball to the rim more.
