Why are people panicking so much?
This Lakers team has two superstars. 3-1 is just fine.
Were we expecting to go 16-0?

because we've entered an alternate universe where the Tpups are the Duncan/Parker/Manu/Kawhi Spurs and we've already lost.

Nope. I don’t like it. Screw around with a team like the Pels. Don’t screw around with a team led by LeBron and AD.
The entire, “LA has led 71% of the series” is frustrating.
Last year, the switch flipped game 1 against Minny.
I don’t know if I see a switch flipping. But it needs to happen game 5 and right now, I don’t have a great feeling about the next game.

My worry, and isn’t just for this series, is that Jamal is indeed playing hurt. More likely the soreness from shin splints never went away, and combined with recent other leg ailments affecting knees and ankles, he can’t get the proper lift on his jump shots, nor the proper amount of cutting to get to the basket and finishing with efficiency. He does it sometimes, but the inefficiency screams at me “LEG PROBLEMS”. This won’t go away, though it may get better, through the rest of our playoff games. If I’m right, we won’t repeat. Can’t do that without a Playoff Murray, and we don’t have that this time.

that's definitely a valid concern and one that requires the passage of time to judge it's validity.

Why are people panicking so much? This Lakers team has two superstars. 3-1 is just fine. Were we expecting to go 16-0? They've played poorly in 4 straight games. Jokic has no interest in dominating from the jump. Murray is trying to do too much and making terrible decisions. The bench is atrociously bad offensively. That's why we're panicking.

DNVR guys saw it the same as I did btw. They killed Murray too but all pretty much said Jokic was awful defensively, didn't come out with the right energy/aggressiveness, etc.
So...it's not just me who is seeing ONE of the many issues with this team right now. Stop only caring about box scores.

Mares "I always say that the team matches Jokics energy more than any other player on the roster. When he's got a pep in his step the team has a pep in his step and tonight he just didn't."
Crazy that other people are saying what I said last night. Wild. Nuts. Insane.

Porter and AG are the only others with a positive WS/48 at .170 and .151 respectively. WS/48 takes into account defense as well as offense. KCP’s WS/48 is not good at .048, but it beats anyone else. CB is at .025. And Jamal Murray? A putrid -.01. That’s “Mudiay bad”. Rounding out the ugliness are PWat, Holiday, and RJ who are at -.046, -.089, and -.126. Only Jokic, MPJ, and AG are carrying their weight in this series. Jokic series numbers are better than his RS numbers across the board. You are focused entirely on the wrong place.

Don't care about the numbers. Jokic will never have bad numbers or advanced stats. Jokic has not been a leader on the floor in this series. He has let the Lakers dictate the Nuggets play for basically every first half and some 3rd quarters. When he has Austin Reaves posted up on the nail and is surveying the floor instead of making a quick move to score, it's a problem. He's also terrified to post up AD who he obliterates in the post. It's making everyone elses job tougher which is a factor as to why Murray is struggling so much. Jokic is fine taking a back seat and Murray is the only other one who can create offense for himself/his team. Leads to bad shots/decisions because...he's forced to force it.

So Jokic is making Murray take poor shots, make bad decisions with shot selection, and miss his shots or turn it over. Got it. You’re being ridiculous. Looking at the numbers is simply looking at the facts. And the facts are no one else is pulling his weight alongside Jokic, other than MPJ and Gordon. Murray doesn’t even allow Jokic that many touches in the first quarter. We on the board have been complaining that Jokic is being ignored in too many instances. None of the failures of Murray or KCP or Braun or Watson or RJ or Holliday are Jokic’s fault. Facts are facts. Jokic played well enough in our four games to win in a sweep easily. We are only up 3-1 and struggling in first halves because all but three players are struggling or outright sucking on offense in this entire series. The numbers don’t lie.

I'm with Ring (mostly). I notice that Game 4 hardly had any dribble-hand offs between Jokic and Murray. I was surprised by that.
I will say - MPJ has found a lot of footing - which is awesome. And it seems like Jokic and Murray are both trying to create room for MPJ to function more prominently in the offense.
I'm of the opinion that Jokic and Murray are treating LA as a warmup for Minny and the rest of the playoffs. They're coasting. I also think they don't want to show the entire playbook to the entire league, on reconnaissance of defeating the Lakers.
....and they all probably partied in LA for two nights straight lol.
So - I'm not worried.

Those teams haven’t (plus Milwaukee has serious injuries)

Saying they are coasting is the dumbest s**t ever. Its the f***ing playoffs and they are the champs. They know the Lakers been leading most of the series.
Saying they coast is disrespectful towards both the Lakers and the Nuggets, and honestly a poor excuse. Why would they coast ever game?

His defense has been terrible in the series. Can we blame him for that or is that now allowed? Or does it not matter because of his offense?
