This is a fairly ridiculous comment since there are so few jobs available in traditional media, especially newspapers, which are dying all across America. The loss of localism is hurting our electorate and society, btw, since people are losing connection with the vital happenings and newsworthy issues where they live. Social media journalism, whether for sports or otherwise, is needed, even if it is amateurish and not up to trad media standards for truthfulness and accuracy. |

DNVR's Avalanche coverage is as bad as it could possibly be. They could hire Adrian Dater and still not get any worse than they already are. AJ Haefeleleleelele or whatever his name is is always wrong. And, again, 90% of what Harrison Wind at DNVR does is reword Katy Winge's tweets. And I don't hold Winge in very high regard to begin with. |

My god so much hate for a show, did they turn down a mammoth show idea you had for them 😂. Also they have a nice bar for fans to watch the games

I just have no respect for people who present themselves as journalists or analysts but who have even less knowledge and information than random people on this forum. If it came down to trusting lothar or anybody at DNVR with regards to the cap, CBA, or contracts I'm trusting lothar 1000%. I know more than any of the DNVR clowns and lothar knows way, way more than I do and nobody's paying him for it. Half the people who work at The Fan, Mile High Sports, Altitude, and all the local TV stations are already utterly worthless and the worst among them are still better than the best DNVR has to offer. It's ridiculous that half the time we get injury reports on our own team from road reporters faster than any of the alleged media members here can figure it out. |

I’m thankful there are entrepreneurs who try to entertain sports fans with content creation and even a live venue. I used to go to the original sports bar in Denver in the mid-80’s. Jackson’s Hole at Leetsdale near Monaco, and it was a helluva fun place to go during Nuggets playoff games in 1985 and 1988. |

Up until recently I used a third party service called Nitter to view tweets but since that doesn't work anymore I just wait for them to get embedded somewhere else. I didn't have a twitter account until someone else with my first initial / last name mistakenly created a twitter account using my e-mail address. But now I have basically a read-only account. I don't "follow" anyone or tweet. I just add accounts to a list I call "random crap" and then I view that list. Advantage over the main feed: it's chronological, and ad-free. It's 100% just the accounts I added to the list (including stuff they retweet, so like Denver Police will sometimes retweet Arvada Police and then I'm like "right maybe I should add Arvada Police and Wheat Ridge Police and Colorado State Patrol...") |

Regarding the DNVR guys -
f***ing silly to call them media-corp rejects.
I'm friends with some of the DNVR guys and I love them. Many of the guys on DNVR are not making bank. They are doing it out of pure love and enjoyment. Their credibility is that they can incite convo about the locals teams, be persistent, and acquire large social media followings as a result. Most of them have a primary job, while DNVR is pure hobby. This is not akin to a 9News anchor making six-figures.
Where I bristle most when the DNVR guys are criticized -
Look guys - any of you can go to Twitter.com and make an account. If you post interesting things (hopefully insightful), create convo about the local teams, and you're consistent (daily posting) and engaged with other fans (and usually - a kind person that others want to interact with) you have a decent shot at catching fire and now becoming a social media personality (even at a local level). These guys didn't roll out of bed and just get 10K followers. They grinded, practiced persistence and continuously posted takes, for the enjoyment of us fans.
I have a lot more respect for that, than doing 'superiority' grouching.
