Injury report
Jokic - probable (hip) Gordon - probable (foot) Murray - questionable (knee) Cancar - confirmed today by the Denver Gazette that he won't be back in the playoffs. Not surprising, but he is planning to play for Slovenia this summer and has apparently not had any setbacks
Zeke not listed so presumably he's okay.
As for the Hawks Mouhamed Gouye - questionable (elbow) Trae Young - out (finger surgery) Saddiq Bey - out (knee surgery) AJ Griffin - out (ankle) Onyeka Okongwu - out (toe)
Wolves lost to the Suns, Thunder lost to the Pacers. Nuggets can clinch the 1 seed with 5 wins.
If Murray can go I'd play him in this game, rest him for the Jazz game since it's night 1 of a back to back, and then play him for the Wolves game.

that sounds reasonable regarding Jamal... he needs games.
play everyone tonight, then rest Jamal against Utah, again play everyone against Minnesota, and rest Jokic and Gordon last two games, at San Antonio and at Memphis.
Utah, San Antonio and Memphis all wants to lose, so there is good chance to beat them without everyone playing. and Gordon and Jokic needs rest. KCP and MPJ also, but someone has to play, and IMO, Gordon has least fuel left in the tank. and you want to give Joker few extra days of rest

I still think Reggie needs the rest the most. He's about to turn 34 and he has played in every single game this year. If he can rest some and get back to how he was playing in November when he averaged 14/3/4 on 50/41 FG/3PT splits we'll really benefit.

I would like Reggie to get some rest so Braun can get more run at PG, but just to be clear: Reggie had one month (November) where he scored with that efficiency, and it's been a steady, consistent decline since then. I think we need to be realistic, resting him for a few games will not turn back the hands of time. the Reggie we're watching is the Reggie we're going to get and the coaching staff should be fully cognizant of that fact heading into the POs.

I'm not expecting Reggie to suddenly become the Reggie of eight years ago, but I do think his major decline this year coincided with his toe injury in February and he has suffered for never having the chance to rest it. We've had Jamal out significant chunks of the year, minimal confidence in CB/CG/KCP running the point, and zero confidence in Pickett so Reggie just had to keep playing.
November was his best month but his numbers in December and January weren't awful either. It's his 2 point efficiency in February/March/April that has been god awful.
December: 43/36/85 splits January: 43/39/88 splits February: 40/22/80 splits March: 39/40/86 splits April: 32/40/100 splits
I really do think an 8-10 day rest for a 34 year old man who played way more minutes than he expected to this year could help. Only Braun has played as many games as Reggie for us this year and Reggie is only 25 minutes behind Murray for 5th most on the team. He was supposed to be the #2 point guard getting pushed for minutes by the rookies, not #1B playing every single game including back to backs and starting over 20.
If we can get December/January Reggie for 7-13 minutes per game in the playoffs, we're fine.

Speaking of Reggie.
New injury report
Reggie Jackson - questionable (illness) Aaron Gordon - questionable (foot)
Reggie and Gordon both downgraded to questionable. Jokic still listed as probable, Murray still questionable.
Jokic's back and wrist injuries are no longer listed on the report, just the hip.

While it might be a carryover from last game, it has turned out to be the case each time it appears on report day of game. So I’m not sure it’s carryover. If Murray is out, we surely will see CG play over 20 minutes tonight, and CB playing 25 ish minutes and likely starting. If AG is out, PWat will also start and Zeke will be a backup 4.

ESPN hasn't updated Joker or Murray's status since yesterday. Only Reggie and Gordon. ESPN is generally the last place to know when someone's status changes unless it's a story Woj happens to be reporting on. Nobody from ESPN is actually reporting on this story, they're just looking at Katy Winge on Twitter.

We might even see a minute or three of Pickett tonight in non-garbage time.

I sincerely doubt both Murray and Reggie sit out. I think Reggie's late addition to the injury report is probably an indicator Jamal will play.

Malone just said that Murray is closer to playing tonight than he was against the Clippers and if he feels great after warmups tonight he'll play.

Reggie and Jamal both playing tonight, Gordon out. I was kinda curious about seeing CG for 25 minutes and Pickett for 5. Oh well.

If Reggie Jackson is wearing a mask, he shouldn't be playing. Just stay home and rest up lol

If Reggie Jackson is wearing a mask, he shouldn't be playing. Just stay home and rest up lol He's probably playing because they want to save Gillespie's last few games for the true garbage time games at the end of the year. We're running 14 guys tonight. No Gordon, Vlatko, CG, or Key.

In any case, next year Malone has to do a better job of managing that 50 game limitation for two ways. There's no good reason for CG and Key to be inactive on a night where Gordon is resting and Reggie is sick except that we didn't do a good enough job of getting them off days when they truly weren't needed. Next year we should make sure all our two-ways have missed the requisite 32 games before March even starts, so we have a full deep bench in situations like this at the end of the year.
