I think Strawther will be okay long term. He needs to calm down and step into his shots with intention. But again, I like his defensive effort and instincts and he doesn't turn the ball over. Strawther has decent defensive effort and good all-around bball IQ but based on the 5 minutes I’ve seen him play he’s a subpar athlete by NBA standards. He doesn’t have Braun’s strength and athleticism or Watson’s length and flexibility. It’s tough to see Strawther make it as a “defense first” guy. Tyson I just can't see ever being a capable NBA defender or rebounder. I wouldn’t count him out. The league has seen plenty of Brian Scalabrine type players. It wouldn’t be crazy for Tyson to be the next one. I still think Pickett can have a future in the league but I think Gillespie has simply beaten him out for the young PG role on this squad going forward. I don’t think Nuggets’ management sees Gillespie that way. I tend to see it that way, but at the same time, see challenges in finding a playable backup C for next season in the trade or free agent market.

Not giving up on Straw.
He’s a rookie, fellas! Give him time to get into a solid flow.
