Really can't over-emphasize how important this game is. Miami is a team that you can only beat by playing hard and executing well. Nuggets jump into the 1 seed with a win. Every time they're in this opportunity this year, they lose. Miami will want revenge, it's the first game of a road trip, eastern time zone, etc. I hope the boys are ready.
The talk has been about how they don't need the 1 seed and it shouldn't be the top priority. I agree with that. But winning a Championship is that much easier having home-court every round. The Nuggets last year won a road game in every series. If they were the 1 seed and they did that this year, they'd have to lose a minimum of 2 home games in a series to lose. Good luck to any team trying to beat Denver in Denver twice.

with KAT injured-- who is shockingly adequate at defending Joker and allowed Gobert to play the helper, I just don't see the imperative of prioritizing HCA in the West over rest/preventing injury. the one team I see the value in HCA has the overall top seed locked up. we can play an extra game in a playoff series, it's not the end of the world. risking injury to a starter however, is the end of the run.

I feel the resting talk is to be had when we're sub 10 games until the PO. The top is still too tightly packed, for now we play as is but not force guys to play when they're too banged up.

Playing an extra playoff game carries injury risks too. There's an aspect of "choose your risk" here. If we were 5 back, I'd say don't tryhard for the 1 seed. And if we were way up on the 2 seed like last season, I'd say sure, coast down the stretch. But tied for the 1 seed, and with 2 other teams within 3 in the loss column? Go out and execute for now. If the Thunder play better down the stretch, fine, settle for 2. But don't settle so hard you fall to 4 and have to play extra games at playoff-level intensity.

that is certainly true, but as we saw with KAT and what we saw with Murray when he tore his ACL, nagging injuries/exhaustion put you in a considerably higher risk for major injury so if you're entering the playoffs with as much rest as possible, as was the case last year, you significantly lower that risk.

I just want the Nuggets to follow the same trajectory as last year.

KAT is expected to return for the playoffs. He has the same injury as Embiid and had the same surgery to repair it. Embiid is said to be "nowhere near" ready to return and his surgery took place much earlier. They are "hoping" Embiid can make it back in the last week of the regular season. If they rush Towns back it will be a big mistake.

Jimmy Butler - probable (illness) Tyler Herro - out (foot) Kevin Love - out (heel) Josh Richardson - out (shoulder)
Only Vlatko is listed on our injury report but we can probably assume Tyson, Pickett, and Key are still with the Gold.

playing almost 40 minutes to defeat the Gradey Dick led Raptors will do that to you.

I will not be concerned at all if we lose this game. We're tied with okc and that's good. They will lose the next game so no need to rush anywhere. Being #2 seed behind okc is not scaring me a bit as we're going to sweep that team, with no extra games. Expecting that Chet will guard Jokic is the same like expecting Facu to stop Curry. Just protect Jokic and Murray at any cost. It looks we're separating from 3&4 and that's good enough. It's still to early to pull the full brake but we shouldn't put 100% to win every game. If Boston doesn't come out of east than we'll have a better record than the east team

since OKC lost last night, this is easy loss if you ask me.
also, Nuggets are probably try less now... they need to gather energy for playoffs.

Sounds like Jamal is playing tonight. If he is tired, maybe limit his minutes to under 35.

If he didn't rest after he turned his ankle last week there was no chance he was resting tonight. It was just people on this site pushing that narrative. After the game Malone actually said Jamal was in a good place and feeling good (presumably was referencing the shin splints that been bothering him).

Actually, Jamal did address his heavy minutes in postgame presser. He only admitted that it affects…his lungs! He won’t make excuses about ankle, shins, or anything else. He is playing and should play,
