Pels are still a pretty good team. Jones/Ingram/Zion/Valanciunas is a huge lineup. Will be interesting to see who starts tonight. I think Jokic is going to have to score 30+ for us to win this one though.

after that, finally 3 days off, cause this was brutal so far, cause Warriors game will be 9th in 16 days(5 in 7 days in mids of it). thats a lot for start of the season.

We'll have to figure it out. My uninformed opinion would be 3 weeks best case for a hamstring strain. Will hurt us late in tight games when we don't have our 2-man bread and butter.

With McCollum and Alvarado and Murphy out, the Pelicans don’t have a lot of outside shooting and presumably will be looking to run and attack the basket relentlessly.

Reggie will start and Gillespie is PG2 per Winge and Barnes.

This will make 6/8 games active for both CG and Key (unless they sit Key for Huff tonight). That's about a 62 game pace, which is 12 more than they're allowed. If Jamal misses two or three weeks they're going to burn right through a ton of Gillespie's eligibility.

How does it work with the G League? Can any team sweep in and snatch CG if he's given a full roster spot? That would royally suck.

No, his contract is ours for the season and he'll be a restricted free agent after the year.

Just like what happened last season with Jack White and CG himself. We gave both of them two-way qualifying offers, but White got a partially guaranteed full time NBA offer from OKC that we didn't match, so he left. CG didn't get any other offers so he signed his two-way and he's locked in until June 29 when we again owe him a qualifying offer. But for the rest of this season, the only way anyone can get any of our two-ways is if we cut them.

June 29th is actually a huge day for us in general:
-Gillespie is due a qualifying offer. He is still eligible for another two-way (for two more seasons) but I suspect he'll be offered a full time deal. If not by us, by someone else
-Braxton Key is due a qualifying offer. This is his fourth year so he won't be eligible for a two-way anymore. He's in that Davon Reed situation of being a full timer or finding a different league after this year.
-Jay Huff is due a qualifying offer. He has one year of two-way eligibility left after this one if nobody wants him on a full time deal. 
-KCP must opt in or become an unrestricted free agent
-Reggie Jackson must opt in or become an unrestricted free agent
-We must pick up Vlatko's 1 year, $2.35M option or let him become an unrestricted free agent
-Justin Holiday's 1 year deal is up
-DeAndre Jordan's 1 year deal is up

Ideally Reggie gets a better offer elsewhere, opts out, and we can slide CG into his PG2 spot full time next year. Otherwise we may have to trade Pickett, or carry four full time PGs, if we want to hold on to Collin.

Malone just said this isn't a one or two game injury and Jamal had tightness in the hamstring since camp, so it sounds like it'll be at least a couple weeks. Maybe he can be ready for the road trip that starts on November 17.

Knowing Jamal, he'll come back early and struggle for weeks. Nuggets really need to lean on Jokic in this stretch. Would be nice if MPJ can continue to cook too. The schedule isn't too rough this month.
