I think if LeBron were any other guy, Nuggets win comfortably tonight. He has to resent the idea of flying back to Denver given he's banged up and exhausted. I do think his concern for his brand and the narrative around him probably are the reason he sees value in avoiding the sweep enough to not pack it in. I'm certain if you gave him truth serum, he knows he's losing this series.
That said, the Lakers basically gave up late in the 4th of Game 3 when it was improbable, but not impossible. Punch them the mouth today, and I'm guessing guys will pack it in.

Yeah it's going to be interesting to see what they do. I would agree that LeBron doesn't want the sweep on his record or that narrative all offseason. If L.A can grab a win or two than it'll be alot easier for him. Same time L.A has to be pretty defeated right now. Getting a lead early would be nice.

Unrelated on LeBron - the two things I'm looking at tonight and as long as this series goes:
1. When the "the foot is much worse than people think" or "the foot should be an 8 month injury" leaks come out from the LeBron media folks. If it's pregame or even during the game, he's trying to get out in front of it and it might be time to bet Nuggets. Otherwise, it'll be immediately after they do lose *knock on wood*.
2. What he says about Jokic when the series ends. This has been interesting to me. There's a little LeBron talking about Steph and the Warriors in 2015/16 to the way he talks about Jokic/Nuggets. He credited basically everybody but Jokic last game. I think he mentioned 6 guys. Didn't say one word about Jokic. Seems happy to praise KCP, MPJ, Bruce Brown, even Jeff Green. I've heard him talk about Jamal a bunch. Basically crickets about Jokic. When asked why the Nuggets were up 3-0 he attributed it to role players. Absolutely nothing about Jokic. Like a vague implication to his guys are hitting shots and mine aren't. This guy is all about his brand, and this feels very strategic. Cede nothing to the other great player on the other side. When asked before the series about 2020, he basically said Jokic was good in 2020 and wouldn't expand at all. Like don't diminish that I've already bested this guy. I'm hopeful to see LeBron appreciate greatness, which Jokic deserves, but my assumption is the focus will rest on his health, maybe how beat up and exhausted the team was from having to play must win games for so long, or any number of ways to avoid just really giving a younger guy flowers. LeBron only publicly appreciates guys in the immediate vicinity of them maybe coming to his team to help him win, it seems like.
I really enjoyed KD talking about Jokic during their series. He has a view of the game and Jokic we will never see, and you could hear in the way he talked about him that it was clicking in real time that Jokic is not overstated by the media, but actually as good as advertised. And he took several moments to really talk to him after Game 6. Contrast that with other stars who kind of brush by Jokic with a generic congratulations you'd reserve for a role player you had no history with. Dame comes to mind before he also alluded to Jokic having more help in '21 (he didn't).

I'll be very interested to see Jamal's aggression level out the gate. if it's anything like game 3, then the Lakers might say to themselves "I'm too old for this s**t" like Danny Glover and pack it in for the season.

I was watching this documentary on NBA groupies and was wondering if LeBron has ever participated? Or does he do it on the down low?
The groupie market must be HUGE in LA and someone of LeBron's stature; how does he resist (if at all)? So many questions

So many questions I'm not going to pretend like I ever had the inclination to care about these athletes personal business and their extracurricular activities, but I do know his wife Savannah was pretty determined to see LeBron leave South Beach and return to CLE. do with that information as you please.

I don't remember being this relaxed before the game. I am always optimistic but I also know that winning on the road is not easy let alone 2 times in a row.
