Crazy no one mentioned espns awful commentary
JVG and mark jackson were nothing short of embarrassing, ignorant and just painfully frustrating to listen to.
There is no way you can convince me they weren’t rooting for the lakers.
Jamal gets hit in the face…
“No he didn’t” -mark jackson
Wtf was that?
Every call against the lakers they whined about. Everything was about what the lakers did right or wrong. Or what they can do to win.
It’s unreal. It’s supposed to be unbiased.

out of morbid curiosity, I just watched latest three clips on ESPN concerning the WCF.
the first clip consisted mainly of Lowe and Perkins engaging in an impassioned plea as to why the Lakers Disney Hotel championship should "count". why this is a topic of conversation in the year of our lord 2023, I have no idea.
second clip was Windy and his podcast. they were so depressed discussing their beloved Lakers you would think a colleague had died.
third clip was long time Nugget supporter Jalen Rose who did the impossible and actually gave Murray, Joker and the Nuggets credit for the G2 win. I'm sure he was reprimanded off camera.

Gawd awful... #1 in the West, strangle hold on a finals appearance, and they still know squat about the team or their stars. The most homer national broadcast I may have ever had the displeasure of suffering through. (Bad enough ignoring Mal got hit in the face, but they went on and on and on 'joking' about it. It stated to feel weird... very wtf?)

The NBA re-invented itself — and became a profit behemoth — around “Be Like Mike” culture and marketing. The Nuggets have never had any version of “Mike” and in the NBA caste system, they are at the bottom, and it is what it is. Even Jokic’s greatness will not change that, because he’s not a “Like Mike” type of player or personality or image or driver of profits.

The whining by JVG and Jackson about the F1 call which was obvious as Murray’s face was swiped backward by an elbow/biceps was insufferable. Later they whined that a play should have been an F1 on the Nuggets but was a no-call. Then they “admitted” that neither play should have been an F1. When in actuality the officiating got both plays right, and one of them was an F1.
Embarrassing.

I don’t get what mark jackson has against us. He was clearly rooting for LA.
He played in denver for a year and we made him look good in that playoff series when he coached the warriors.

Yeah I genuinely was contemplated turning the volume off yesterday and syncing the game with the DNVR watch along feed but it was too much work. JVG and Jackson are so tough to listen to. Just painful.

A very few thoughts from my perch in the cheap seats at Ball Arena:
— the crowd was a little late arriving due to the 6:30 start on a weekday — the series of ticky-tack calls in favor of the Lakers right from the start annoyed the hell out of me, and made me look bad after I defended refs not only here, but to my son in the car on the way to the game. — while early foul trouble interrupted the Nuggets usual “rotations”, they did a good job of keeping their composure even though they were not playing very well. — can someone get ahold of Wizards’ management and “have a word” about gifting Hachimura to the Lakers for nothing more than a bouquet of flowers? WTF??? Reeves has also been fantastic, but at least some other team didn’t send him to the Lakers in a gift basket. This series would be one-sided in favor of the Nuggets if not for the late season gift of Hachimura to the Lakers. I’m not claiming that he’s going to be this guy next season and beyond, but he’s been doing this the entire postseason, not just against the Nuggets. Imagine the score of these games if the Nuggets instead of the Lakers had picked him up in February for 2nd round picks and he was playing like this for the Nuggets instead. f***ing Wizards. — Rocky hit his half court shot. — Jamal Murray is that guy. Sure he wasn’t playing that well the first 3 quarters, but there are a very limited number of players in the NBA who are capable of taking over conference finals games in the 4th quarter. — I was surprised that KCP wasn’t on the court to close the game at the very end. It seemed to me one would want his experience, especially after the Nuggets were protecting a lead.
On to game 3. I feel very good about the Nuggets ability to win at least one game in LA.

KCP was wearing an compression back brace after he took a shot from AD in the 3rd quarter. He may have tightened up and Brown was owning so I think Malone held him out as a precaution.
Officiating was decent. LA is going to need 4 games reffed like Game 6 against the Kings in ‘99 for them to come back.
All the heads are saying well it’s an odd game so AD will dominate again. Bullshit. He dominated after extra rest, not every other game. He gets no extra rest this whole series. Today is a travel day for both teams.
Hachimura played great but missed the only shot a real of consequence he took (corner three down 4). I have no problem letting him shoot.
If anyone on this board ever says s**t again about Murray, it should be an auto ban. He has been bashed mercilessly by some here (you know who you are) and he has now won three games in these playoffs. I am not sure why people expect him to average 30 on 70% shooting while playing AS quality defense and never turn the ball over. Maybe just a bit unrealistic to expect the second option to be better than basically every other team’s first option.
He was the best player for many games against the Wolves and battled Durant to a stalemate. He has been the best Nugget through two games of the f***ing WCF and won game 2 by himself. Knocking him shows you either have no knowledge of the sport or you have irrational dislike of him for some other reason. What that might be I can only speculate.
Edited to add- And while some of us have taken to naming the greatest Nuggets ever, leaving Melo off that list is just biased. I haven’t lived in Denver in 13 years but I had season tickets for 9, including the doldrums after Dikembe.
I sat and paid money for whole seasons of trash. I was at the draft party when we took Skita and Nene instead of Amare. I would get given 100 level tickets as soon as I got off the second escalator because nobody was at the game. Like nobody.
Melo saved this franchise. AI doesn’t come here without Melo. He never missed the playoffs and made Denver care at all about basketball. His biggest crime was being a kid and drafted between LeBron and Wade.
His departure wasn’t storybook. But he was here a lot of years and made Denver relevant as the #1 option and All Star. Even biased lists of best Nuggets ever shouldnt get passed 5 before Melo is mentioned. /rant

Jokic was better than Jamal in game 1.
And Mark Jackson is a racist scumbage.

The whining by JVG and Jackson about the F1 call which was obvious as Murray’s face was swiped backward by an elbow/biceps was insufferable. I had a very clear view of it as I was on that end of the court and directly in line with Murray’s path to the basket. It was obvious from the angle Russell took — directly toward Murray, not toward the space between Murray and the basket — that he intended to take Murray out regardless of whether Russell had any real chance of a play on the ball.
