I'm feeling pretty optimistic. I don't think the Nuggets can lose if we get a series where our players play to there capabilities. I think it'll take some disappointment from a few guys and our defense falling apart. I think L.A can have a really great series where there isn't alot of disappointment and still end up losing. I think L.A needs to be hoping Murray/MPJ/Gordon etc. have a really disappointing series or Jokic doesn't go off. Nuggets just need to play there game and they should win the series.

Lebron is 20-0 in his last 20 series when they win Game 1.

I’m optimistic about game 1 but sticking with my view that all is not lost if the Nuggets lose. As I wrote earlier in this thread, I think the Nuggets can win if its a short series or a long series. The series is going to require 4 wins and it hasn’t been that long since a Jokic/Murray version of the Nuggets twice came back from 3-1 deficits to win playoff series. Unless and until proven otherwise, I’m sticking with my view that this series will get more favorable for the Nuggets the longer it goes. Game 3 is the 3rd game in 5 days and game 4 is the 4th game in a week and I have confidence this Nuggets team has the toughness to win this series the hard way if that’s what it will take. This postseason the Lakers have yet to play a team that has both size and quality in the paint and I think the Nuggets are ready, willing and able to avenge prior playoff series losses to the Lakers. Bring it on. It's never all lost with 1 game but HC is pretty significant for Denver. It's like games 1/2 vs PHX. It wasn't all lost if we lost those but it changes the series if it happens because your forced to steal a game in PHX. If you lose tonight game 2 becomes a must win and you gotta steal atleast 1 game on the road. You obviously don't hit the panic button after games 1/2(some obviously will lol) but it will be a big blow if they lose tonight. I think the Nuggets getting in a situation where they can play without a ton of pressure puts them in a good spot. It would be alot to ask of Murray to replicate those comebacks. The 3-1 comebacks don't get the credit they deserve because of the bubble but that's some miracle type s**t. Nuggets shouldn't put themselves in a position to be hoping for stuff like that.

Lebron is 20-0 in his last 20 series when they win Game 1. Must win game for Denver. And I think its closer to a must win for the Lakers. Lebron knows he cannot play hard for 5 consecutive games in 10 days (or 6 in 12) with altitude and travel added in. He has to dog it in at least one game. If the Lakers win game 1 as in the Warriors and Grizzlies series, Lebron can coast in game 2 to a loss and still be in a good spot from his POV. But if the Nuggets win game 1, Lebron will be put into a position in which he is probably going to need to play hard and reasonably well for the following 5 consecutive games (2 of which will be at altitude) to make it a winnable series, something he’s not at all confident he can do. So I expect he’s going to go as hard as he can in game 1. If the Nuggets win anyway, Lebron will know the Lakers are in big trouble. On the other hand, the Nuggets can get behind in this series and come back. They’ve done it before, and the difficult schedule favors a Jokic-led team over a 38 year old Lebron-led team if it becomes a long series. Oh, and Murray is a tough SOB too. I can’t say that about Davis.

I don't think there's such a thing as a must win game for a road team in game 1. Don't players tend to get acclimated to the altitude with more time as well? I'm not an expert on that but I remember reading something years ago that basically the Nuggets advantage with the altitude shrinks in the playoffs. Basically in the regular season it catches teams off guard but in a 7 game series there's better ways to prepare. I don't remember all of it but it was basically just arguing that the Nuggets do lose abit of an advantage in the playoffs vs regular season even with guys taking the game more serious vs a random Tuesday.
Also didn't LeBron have his best game of the season vs GS in game 6 where he played like 43 minutes? No doubt he's not the same player and he's been holding back but it's not to the point that he's incapable of playing really good basketball in games 5/6. I do think if we use Gordon on him alot it's a great matchup for us but we'll see.

So Fkn pumped for this! I wish I was in Denver right now. Quietly confident and optimistic about this and want to prove all the doubters wrong. What are the starting 5 defensive matchups? Does Joker take AD? MPJ try’s to stay with Reaves? If the Lakers start Vando: Joker on AD Gordon on LeBron MPJ on Vanderbilt KCP on Reaves Murray on Russell If the Lakers go small: Joker on AD Gordon on LeBron MPJ on Reaves KCP on Schroeder/Walker Murray on Russell I'm putting KCP on Reaves no matter what have to lock him down. I'd live with MPJ on Schroder/Walker honestly. Use his length and play off a bit in them.

Sounds like the Lakers are going small and starting Schroeder. We have to punish them on the boards and stay out of foul trouble.

Used to be excited about draft lottery, which is on now.
Instead, I’m excited and a bit nervous about game 1.
If we win, we will likely win series. If we lose, then I see this series going 7 if AD/LBJ don’t get hurt.

Just our luck. Wemby will play in Western Conference. Pop won’t want to retire until he’s 80 now!

Focused on the game, but it's hilarious how we haven't even had the draft yet and they're saying 'Victor, what is it like to join an organization like the Spurs..'
