Heat/Celtics record is 2-2 this season
Heat won their 2 games by a combined 20 points
Celtics won their 2 games by a combined 7 points.
the Heat also have a championship coach and a championship PG providing leadership. the Celtics have a rookie coach and a roster that has had success in their conference, but there is no NBA champion in their rotation.
I'm not saying it will be a Heat sweep or even close but they are no pushovers. for instance, if Tatum wants to shoot 1-14 for 3 1/2 quarters in a pivotal game 6, MIA is not going to give the Celtics a mulligan like the 6ers did.

Have not been to a game for over 30 years. 8 year old Blackhill Jr. and I are flying in to attend Game 5. I'm taking my sister to game 5. Probably in the accessible row at 333 or 339. If you're in the area, come say hi. |

My concern for the series is transition defense. In all recent losses to LA, this is where the game turns. Bron plays like a free saftey, staying off ball and spying. Make or miss, he swoops in to initiate their transition offense right as the shot leaves Jokic's hand. I'm sure this is a planned out thing because they know Jokic can't get back on defense. If it were me, I'd make this the entire point of emphasis going into the series.
Luckily it seems James is limited now in how much he can push it. Maybe 4 out of every 6 games. But when he's in that mode, he's still a freight train going downhill and that's bad news for a team that's anchored by a slow center that doesn't want to get into a track meet.
IMO, this is where GS went wrong. They were trying to crash the offensive glass with 2 players on nearly every possession. This is the WRONG way to play against a team that relies on transition offense. You need all 5 players sprinting back and walling off the paint. I'm sure Kerr thought it was in his teams best interest to make it a fullcourt game and try to wear Bron and AD out, but he just fed right into their greatest strength.
