I'm willing to give the Wolves credit. That's not an eastern conference team that backed into a playoff spot(Nets). They have the all-defensive center, borderline allstar PF, budding superstar Ant, 6th moy Slo-mo. One of the best PG's and great game manager T-Conn. (lol not Tim Connelly. M-Con)
Let's stop pretending like this should be a cakewalk. I'm glad we got up 3-0 and made it look easy, but closing them out isn't gonna be. The effort level has to be at championship level.
Hopefully we can run them a bit at home and if it comes down to OT, they won't be making 4 three's to avoid the close-out.

One thing I'd like to see going forward, is Jokic showing that he can adjust and stay out of foul trouble. It really hurt us I think when he's avoiding contact for fear of picking up his 4th foul. This is one of the concenrs I had coming into the playoffs and it's proving to be a serious issue.

The NBA has a profit agenda with playoff series sometimes ...I think thats why the officiating was so one-sided in games 3 and 4 ...by extending the series even one game, more $$$ for the NBA

The LA market is huge! Same thing with the Warriors and the Bay Area market. I truly believe the NBA wanted a small market team to succeed, as an example, and thats why the Spurs had a dynasty

Keep it in perspective. The TWolves have chemistry and team construction issues but they do have talent, with 3 players who have been all-stars in 2022 and 2023. And Edwards is a stud who has the talent to be a 10+ year superstar if he keeps his head on straight. He’s the most talented young player in the league. It shouldn’t have been easy to sweep them and the Nuggets were 1 Jokic made FT away from doing that. And the TWolves played a very good game, especially on the defensive end.
My only real complaint is the Nuggets playing as slow as they have. I get it that they want to minimize turnovers and they’ve done a decent job of that. But the TWolves are a pretty slow team overall and I wanted the Nuggets to inject some pace into the game. I remarked at the beginning of the series that I was concerned about the conditioning of Murray and Jokic and this game showed my concerns to be warranted. I still have hope that their conditioning is improving, though.
On to game 5. The Nuggets should be able to close it out at home and make it fun for the home fans. I’d like to see bench guys get played a bit more, both to inject more pace into the game and to preserve the energy of our main guys.

Murray was almost always crossing the halfcourt line with 16-17 seconds left on the shot clock after a made basket. f***ing play with pace. The pace and rhythm of last nights game was horrific and again...I hate to keep beating the same drum but it was mostly because of Murrays lack of energy.

The pace and rhythm of last nights game was horrific and again...I hate to keep beating the same drum but it was mostly because of Murrays lack of energy. I get it but his workload is sky high. He is averaging 25 points/6 rebounds/7 assists. There are defensive possessions where he’s switched onto Gobert or Towns and wrestling down low with a 7’, 280 pound guy, and it’s to be expected that that will take a physical toll. We can agree Murray’s conditioning isn’t where we’d like it, but that cannot be changed this week. The realistic goal should be to share the ball more and get more than 1 point from their players behind the top 6. I wrote a couple of games ago that I’d like to see Nnaji get on the court because the Nuggets need contributions from others and I can see a role for him — a small role, but something — in the playoffs. Maybe get Braun a few more minutes or try a few minutes of Reggie Jackson to get Murray and Brown off the ball (or the court) a bit. The team needs to get a bit more from players other than Jokic and Murray.

That's the thing...lower his workload. Murray doesn't have to be running every single action with Jokic. AG can run actions as can MPJ and KCP. Yesterday they just kept spamming Murray as the primary ball handler and it wasn't working. The Nuggets offense was so f***ing slow and nobody was moving off the ball. The offense had ZERO energy and it was because of Murray.
I would have loved to see more Bruce/Jokic minutes tbh. Jamal just was dead out there yesterday. In Game 5 they have to figure out a way to get other guys involved.

This is one of the concenrs I had coming into the playoffs and it's proving to be a serious issue. Its the fault of the refs and/or the league. 4 out of the 5 highest foul totals (per player) in all of the playoffs are guys in this series — Jokic, Gobert, Gordon, Towns (the other is Portis). So what gives? Big guys are officiated so differently than the other players and this is a big boy series. There is nothing different Jokic can do. Take it up with the league.
