Suns drafted Booker, Ayton, & made a splash to get Paul. What's wrong with that? Tim got Jokic and Murray, but made no splash. Rock, I'd say tip your cap to the Suns. The suns got lucky with the first pick and took ayton over doncic. Huge mistake The booker pick was good. Since 2009: Earl clark at 14 Markeiff Morris at 13 Kendall Marshall at 13 Alex Len at 5 Bogdanovic at 27 (which I think they instantly traded) Tyler Ennis at 18 Tj warren at 14 (which led to another awful trade) Booker at 13 Labissiere at 28 Papagiannis at 13 Chriss at 8 Bender at 4 Jackson at 4 Ayton at 1 I’m losing count of how many wasted first round picks they’ve had I doubt many teams have more

The Suns have had them a good year, but at least some of it is just dumb luck. No injuries and then facing the Lakers without AD and Nuggets without Murray, Porter, Doz and Barton. It's as if the seas parted for them.
I'm willing to give them credit for building a roster that works well together. CP3 was the type of leader they desperately needed and Crowder/Bridges are the perfect modern role players. I could see the Utah/Clips series going 7, so if the Suns knock us out in 4-5, they're my pick to make it out of the west.

If ayton turns into Hakeem then fine
If not they missed out on MJ

it's almost unbearable now but imagine the hype Luka would be getting if he played with Booker and CP3.

I'm willing to give them credit for building a roster that works well together. CP3 was the type of leader they desperately needed and Crowder/Bridges are the perfect modern role players. My $.02 is that Paul is getting a bit too much credit for the Suns success. He’s had a healthy year (so far) and both him and the Suns have been lucky in that respect. He joined a team with several very good young players who were all getting better with or without him. And Crowder was a very good personnel addition. And their coaching is world’s better this season than before (Monty should have won COY). Paul was a good addition (and he’s probably mellowed out of being a bit of a jackass) but he is hardly responsible for all of their improvement from 10th in the west in 2019-20 to 2nd this season.
