He's not a good defender, but can shoot, create and pass.

You guys are underestimating the value of Monte Morris around the league... he’s close with a lot of star players. He’s the best AST-to-TO guy, shoots solid just is a small dude... if he develops into a 13/6 guy he’s going to get paid and we shouldn’t match... tho I think Morris as a 15/8 guy is his ceiling Tyus Jones is a good comp, and this season he had a higher assist rate, a slightly better A/To ratio, very slightly better RPM, and is a year younger, although with 2 more years of NBA experience. Jones is a bit smaller and quicker. Morris is a couple of inches taller and a better defender, though. Their shooting numbers have been pretty similar, although I think Morris may have a bit more potential, partly because he's not as small as Jones. Overall, the two are pretty similar: very good but not elite backup PGs. Last summer, Jones signed a MLE deal for 3 years/$24-26 mil (depending on incentives). Assuming Morris continues to play well, I see him as a MLE player like Jones. If he takes it up a notch, he might earn himself more. But MLE is his current market value IMO. July 25, 2020 Monte Morris would have been eligible for an extension. Not sure what the date is now. I think the most Nugs can pay him is around but not the MLE - if they extend him before season starts. If he won't take the extension, I could see him getting traded.

In lotto hell western conference failure news: Alvin Gentry, gone from the Pelicans (I'm sure for the last time in his head coaching career); Divac out as Kings VP and GM, as he deserves to be after drafting Marvin Bagley over Luka Doncic, one of the worst of the annual high lotto blunders (especially given Divac's european background and connections -- he absolutely should have appreciated Doncic's unprecedented European achievements and obvious top level talent and intangibles). Gentry seems like a super nice guy and I wish him the best in retirement. Divac can smoke more now that he doesn't have to work in NBA smoke free facilities. I don't know why the Suns have escaped criticism for passing on Doncic for Ayton. if you're a 7 footer and you can't shoot like Dirk or run an offense like Joker, you're not a #1 pick. that was pretty clear in 2018.

Would be a good fit actually Man that would be a great fit for Nuggets. 42% 3pt shooter on 4.4 attempts is very good. We don't have a shooter like that. Not a selfish player and a very good passer. Could give us good 15-20 min off the bench. Not being a good defensive player "label" while playing for Twolves or Kings is a joke

Read once Bjelica is someone Jokic looks up to and has since he was a teenager. We already know they can ball together.

Depends on how much he’s looking for
What if he and millsap would both accept 2 years/20 million. Who do you take?

Who do you take? assuming Grant is resigned and starting, bring back Uncle Paul and keep him fresh for the playoffs. defensive minded high bball IQ vets are worth their weight in gold when the games actually matter.

I don't agree with the idea the Nuggets could rely on Millsap to be their only (or primary) backup C. It's not just that he's only 6'7 1/2" -- it's that he's an old, slow 6'7 1/2" who has lost what hops he had. Guys like Harrell and Draymond Green can play center some of the time at that size (and Theis is only a little bigger) but they are much younger, faster and more athletic. I think Millsap can play spot minutes at center in certain matchups, but I do not think he's the answer at center even in a backup role. I'd be fine having him back, but as a backup PF and 3rd string backup C. I think that's the right role for him next season.

Millsap definitely is NOT worth 30 mil anymore but I think he knows. he's a great guy, much needed locker room presence. if we can sign him to like 15 max. somehow... I'd say yes

It's a small sample size but the Millsap stints as a backup 5 for us this season was some of our best basketball.
