Rock already called it, saying Dallas will get players to improve. I do not like WCS at all but in the situation where your only backup C is injured for 2-4 weeks and it can be a difference between #2-3 seed or #4-6 and not to mention the PO where Plumdog is unplayable i firmly beileve that we could have gone for this trade also. 2nd round pick for a player on 2 year 4.5 million $ total is nothing if that player can help us now and maybe in the PO. If not, it's easy to ship him out during the summer. TC logic? We are fine...we will try Cancar at 5 or so.

Does TC even do anything except draft day and overpay free agents in the summer?
Is he even in the office?

No worries rock, we have the most expensive cubic meter of wood in history as our backup C. We are fine for the PO - TC

WCS is a terrible player, come on. GSW fans are very happy with this trade.

Justin Patton waived by Dallas after being traded to them. Yall want a backup big? Hes officially on the market. Give him a 10 day at the very least. Definitely wouldn't mind giving this guy an opportunity as 3rd center.

Nugs aren't getting anything for Juancho or Beasley are they? Nobody can give the right answer to that, but that is my biggest fear. That we will either lose them for free or overpay.

Your biggest fear includes Juancho? Really? Juancho's offensive game has completely fallen apart in his 4th season (he's shooting 34% for the season). He might (but he also might not) get until next season (on some team) to turn it around and if he doesn't he'll wash out of the NBA and will be playing in Europe. The only reason he's even tradeable at all is because he's on an expiring deal for little money. And that doesn't mean the Nuggets will find a deal for him that's worth making. I'm sure there is not much of a market for him right now. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with Beasley. A bunch of other 2020 RFAs -- and their teams -- are in the same situation. I think part of the calculation is whether Beasley really wants to stay with the Nuggets. I don't think the Nuggets are over any kind of barrel w/r/t Beasley. They can trade him if they want to and there's some deal that makes sense, or if not, they have matching rights in the summer. Nobody is offering him a $70 mil contract this summer.

scooter When you put it like that it makes sense. Why is Juancho in the rotation then anyway?

Nugs aren't getting anything for Juancho or Beasley are they? Nope I’m so close to the point where I can’t root for Beasley Not because he’s a bad guy (he seems like an awesome teammate) But every good game raises his price and just means we get worse next season for losing a good player. There is pretty much no outcome where he’s on the team next year and it sucks. We are being hurt for being too deep. You have to maximize your top 5-7 guys. After that it’s just random guys rotating in and out.

Beasley's situation is not the big problem some fans here are creating in their own minds. The Nuggets can either trade him now and get value in return -- as he still has value -- or keep him, in which case they have the absolute ability to re-sign him because of their matching rights. The issue of "raising his price" by playing well doesn't make it more difficult to keep him -- in fact, if that happens and he increases his market value above the MLE (even a little), that will just make a lot fewer teams that would have the ability to sign him (especially the Lakers, as that is a team worth considering given the Rich Paul connection and other factors). I don't know that Harris' lousy shooting creates decisions so much as limits their options, at least in the short term.
