I think I agree with underworld, I like seeing the core players on there. I would say some combination of the the current logo with the players, mixed with the new one.

from a design standpoint, simpler is better IMO. I like the first design and the one with the Nuggets font. simple, sleek and to the point.

to be honest, i adblocked the image a long time ago.
that way when i view the main pages i don't have to scroll down to see everything.

nice work.
i like the simplicity of #1....but i'd make the height way shorter. i can't imagine poop & i are the only ones that are annoyed that the banner takes up half the page and you gotta scroll down every time you login/refresh the page in order to see the content.
maybe make "NUGGETS TALK" on one line with the mining axes on each side or creatively somewhere off to the left/right instead of top/bottom.....just trying to make everything oriented more sideways to space the forum more efficiently.
