i vote we start charging $100 for people to join and a $50/season ongoing fee.......... cuts down the overflow of newbs. Then we can put all the money into the DNPC pool and the winner takes all of the NT earnings for the season

Have Travis Heath and Sasha Vujacic ever been in the same room together?

I think 95% of the board doesn't care, but the 5% that cares will either crap on threads or incessantly PM moderators until they get it "fixed".
I think, for the most part, insults are unnecessary. Complaining about what a troll someone is is unnecessary. Trying to bully someone off of the site is unnecessary. Talking about basketball is necessary. Komodo dragons, swinging turtles, etc. are privileges reserved for the select few.
I don't know how much more complicated the guidelines need to be.

I agree. Anyone want to bully rock into writing such a thing, or at least starting a discussion about it? I guess a discussion (why not this one right here?) is fine to begin with. I have let people's baiting get the best of me in the past, but vowed to myself to not let it happen again - however, I WILL answer to insults when I think it needs an answer, and I don't like one bit the fact that people who defend themselves get the same treatment as the people who start to offend them to begin with. After all, like I said, if you are willing to let insults slip by, you need to let the answers slip by too. And while simply erasing the posts might be a good thing regardless of any other action, it still gives both offender and defender the same treatment, if that's all it's done. While I'll acept what is decided by the moderation, I can't agree with that on the principle of fairness.

One of the rules should be not incessenantly bitching about the team when there's no reason to. Rock's post count has dropped in correlation with Nuggets competitiveness.

people who defend themselves Answering insult with insult isn't "defending" yourself, it's counterattacking after your defenses failed to hold up. And in both cases, it's crapping on the board and subjecting the rest of us to it. I don't see a substantial difference between an attack and a counterattack. And I certainly don't want to codify some sort of "oh, well, if the other guy started it, whatever you do is OK" policy. That just leads to people trying to bait the other guy into technically drawing first blood so they can respond without fear of repercussion. Yeah, OK, if somebody posts dozens and dozens of insults and someone else responds once, there's a difference there, but the difference is in magnitude, not in kind.

Isn't this the discussion about it? I honestly don't see the point though....I think 95% of this board couldn't care less. I asked you about what you think qualifies as the equivalent to your analogy about starting fist-fights and trashing the place around here. I won't pay you to deal with this sh*t like your sister, but hey, you were the guy who accepted to be a mod. (By the way, I don't know how sports bars work in the States, and I'm not really schooled into bar ethics in general, but I would think the line is not that high, either - you don't have to behave like that to be trown out - at least here drunkards harassing other people usually are asked to leave.) Actually, the whole deal is pretty simple. You kinda make it look like the people who complain are on the wrong here, but really what you are saying is that people here should be allowed to act like jerks, as long as they are not too much of jerks. Just can't agree with that, but that's me. If that's really how the moderation thinks - I will either have to accept or leave.

And in both cases, it's crapping on the board and subjecting the rest of us to it. Sorry, you misunderstood me - I didn't mean I would answer to insult with insult - just that I would answer to the insult. The problem is that in a few times I was insulted and answered to the insult with arguments I received a warning from the moderation and complains about "hijacking the thread", while the offender didn't even got a warning. One example is the discussion about atheism that started with, surprise, an out of context insult from 2D2R. It wasn't you, but that raises a side issue: moderation needs to be more consistent around here, which brings us back to having a guideline to go by.

Whatever happened to the new names on the post counts? Off topic- I know.
I agree with some others in that some of the warnings or bans aren't always consistent. Some guys can go bananas on people and others can barely say anything.
But it is what it is. If we like it- stay. If not- then find something else to do.

One of the rules should be not incessenantly bitching about the team when there's no reason to. Rock's post count has dropped in correlation with Nuggets competitiveness. QFT. Every single person here does things that annoy the hell out of other people. What really makes one thing worse than the other? I'm not saying anything is right or wrong here...I just don't see why such a big deal needs to be made out of it. And that goes for everything. If someone's posts bother you that much, don't read them....that's what the ignore feature is for. Me personally, it's not that big of an issue....nothing anyone says on a message board is going to bother me enough to let it ruin my day. And ironically, the one thing that actually ever gets under my skin a little bit is rock's constant pessimistic bitching. But we've all learned to live with it. This board has been up for what...almost 8 years now? I've been here for over 4 now, and things have always been the same for as long as I can remember. It's the most active Nuggets board that I've seen, and does have a good deal of true knowledgeable fans....things seem to have worked pretty well the way they have so far. That's just how I look at it.

This board has gone to s**t for 3 reasons: Linas Kleiza, Anthony Carter, and George Karl. The board has been mobbed of idiots who who either blindly hate the three or love the three. And it all inevitably ends up with us discussing Kim Kardashian's ass.

Look Pac, I've said from Day 1 since returning that I'm tired of being bashed when I have respect for everyone of the veteran members of this thread? I'm tired of being called a douche and a jackass, and I'm not 13, I'm 17 and I think we need to all act mature... THere have been things I've said to you and others that I shouldn't have and I'm sorry for that... From this point on I just want to put all that aside and to put an end to the trashing of eachother and call a TRUCE. I like this board a lot and I don't want to be driven away from it! There are a lot of great people in this board.
The Kardashian topic was something that we all got into, nothing really in the offseason to blab about so the Kardashian's were a perfect August Topic..
Once again I'm sorry to everyone for some things I've said, I just hate being bashed for nothing.
