I was kind of enjoying this article until I go to this...
Clearly, someone hasn't watched many Nuggets games this year... and certainly not in the playoffs. After I hit that part, the whole article seemed like it was written by a High School kid for an opinion-writing assignment.

We finished 19th in points allowed this year..news flash thats not good. And George karl is know for a lot of things..none of which are defense. We have been in the bottom half of the NBA in defense every year he has been here. His teams played when he was with Bucks too. Melo did adopt Karls defense..Karl is just like Don Nelson. Anyone who saw last years playoff series knows that clearly karl doesnt coach defense. No Larry Brown or Pat Riley team would ever play that kind of defense. When a team plays that bad and the same players start every night that means coach isnt stressing defense..and clearly Karl doesnt. Melo and Iverson played 0 defense and started every game..like there was nothing wrong

We finished 19th in points allowed this year.. "Points allowed" is a crappy stat. It's mirror image to the stat that says AI was a great player because he scored 30 per game. What matters is not just the points, but how many tries it took to get them. The Nugs were solid in defensive efficiency. Our "points allowed" was high because we played at a faster pace than other teams, but per possession teams still had a hard time scoring points.

We're 8th in Defensive Efficiency (points allowed per 100 possessions). We're 4th in FG% allowed. 2.) George Karl LITERALLY wrote a book on defense. 3.) Allen Iverson's not even on this team anymore. This team, as presently constituted, is significantly different than the one to which you're referring.

People who still think Denver's defense sucks must have not been watching Denver this year. It's obvious, even SAS and Rockets fan I know have admitted that they were impressed by our defense.
