Every other team that played today shot more than the Lakers’ 19 free throws. 6 free throws is absurd. Josh Hart shot 10 free throws and 8 of his 12 FG attempts were threes, but sure he’s getting way more defensive contact than Jokic. Joel Embiid shot twice as many FTs today as the Nuggets. Again, it's no small thing. Integrity has to mean something to the NBA. They can't ban Jontay for life but sit idly whilst their own officials worship the Lakers.

A/To ratio for the Nuggets’ starters: 25/1. That is ridiculous.

Didn't expect to see DJ tonight but he gave us 4/2/0/1/1 on 1/1 FG, 2/2 FT, 0 TO, 3 PF, -3 in 9 minutes. Hats off to the man. If we only lose the no Jokic/Gordon minutes by 3 we're almost impossible to beat.

I think they held up well too. Could really help keep everyone fresh if we can go 10 deep.

I think he only got in the game tonight because Gordon got in early foul trouble, and then Malone went back to him because he held up okay. I always expected we'd see Reggie, CB, Watson, and Holiday off the bench.

Rocky Jr still sucks at the halfcourt shot, which is a disappointment. But Laker fans walking out of the arena sad was worth all the missed halfcourt shots in the world.

Big win! Really needed that
Now let’s get ready for Monday. You know the lakers will make adjustments. We have lots of things we can do better as well.

DJ, if he continues to not embarrass himself, will be backup C against the Lakers and, I suspect, Minny if both teams make it to second round. Malone will want to put size in against the Wolves. Still wish we wouldn’t deviate from AG as backup C as it was a key ingredient to our 16-4 postseason record last year.

I think we're better with AG as 2C, but if we can win and advance without showing that look it's all the better in the long term. I still think we'll revert to it next game if we get through the first quarter with no foul trouble in game 2, but we'll see.

players who attempted as many FT as the entire Nuggets team tonight:
AD Paolo Suggs Jarrett Allen KD Booker Gobert Towns Embiid Brunson Hart
Literally, 11 players spread across 7 non-Nuggets teams attempted as many FT each as the Nuggets did total

The thing our guys gets zero credit for is conditioning. The game seemed close, but this series won’t be long. The lakers just can’t keep up. Disparity of 14 free throw attempts and still a double digit victory.
No one can outpace the conditioning of our team.
The lakers have one “break glass” option left. Im not going to say what it is because their FO reads this board - but I’ll be curious to see if Darvin ham does it. Even if he does, we still make quick work of this team - but it would be the only card that could bring some balance to the series.
As predicted - DLo is a bum. He’ll be benched soon (which will be a shame!).

As a Knicks fan, f*ck the Lakers, f*ck LeBron, f*ck AD for leaving New Orleans for a bigger market team, f*ck their annoying fan base

The adjustment is to have AD play all 48 minutes and 39 year old LeBron play 40+ minutes lol

I too hate the "daddy" s**t. Last night the Nuggets had some hard old-style takedowns on driving Lakers, including one on Lebron, who had several times he could have done the same to Joker, but just let him go by. Nuggets idiot fans don't seem to realize that at any moment a player on another team, especially one being embarrassed, could undercut or bodyslam Joker, Jamal, AG, or MPJ and our nice run would be over forever.

Let a sleeping dog lie. Don’t chant “Who’s your daddy” or some other taunting chant during Game 1 of what could be a long 7 game series. Show the other team the respect that they show us. Lebron has been so complimentary of Jokic and the Nuggets, and fans here and at the arena want to rile him up?
Let the Lakers know your feelings AFTER we have our fourth win secured.

Fans are fans. Malone and the rest of the team gave plenty of respect to LA last night after the game. I was actually happy with what Malone said and he didn’t keep up with the trash talk.

Rocky Jr still sucks at the halfcourt shot, which is a disappointment. But Laker fans walking out of the arena sad was worth all the missed halfcourt shots in the world. The Rocky from 20-25 years ago was such an amazing entertainer. Some of the players — like Barkley — could even appreciate it. It takes a special person to combine the physical stuff — hitting half court shots and climbing up the levels of the arena — with the comedy stuff he did. Folks with those combinations of talent are difficult to find.
