Sakic had 120 points/50 goals/12.8 point shares in the regular season and 34 points/18 goals in the playoffs, plus the Conn Smythe. Forsberg had 116 points/30 goals/11.0 point shares in the regular season and 21 points/10 goals in the playoffs. Sakic did it with lesser linemates, too (Claude and Val >>> Young and Deadmarsh) Fors had a hat trick in one period in game 2 of the finals. Not saying sakic wasn’t great - he was incredible. But you had to do strict game playing against forsberg and make sure he was contained - that dude busted up every game plan thrown at him, and was often a reason teams were flummoxed when facing us. Fors’s body betrayed him tho. Had he held up better, he’s a top 5 all timer.

Two great wins... Nuggets are still the team to beat, they are just showing it on occasion, not scared of anyone come playoff time. Just pray everyone stays healthy.

Nuggets fans should never bash Jokic when he is in cruise mode because availability, consistency and efficiency he has given us over the years gives him ALL the right in the world to pick and chose his spots and to load manage himself during the 82 game regular season. On the other hand, Nuggets fans SHOULD bash everyone else not named Nikola Jokic every game they s**t the bad because there is no single all star on this team. Jokic deserves a full golden stature in front of a Ball arena TODAY if not yesterday. We've never seen a Nuggets player of this caliber...never. I've watched multiple opposing teams players come into Denver and get cheered for but to watch Jokic get that tonight in DC, reminded me how lucky we are to have him on the Nuggets. We are very lucky to have Jokic, no question, and yes, I agree we've never had anyone of his stature as a Nugget. As much as I love Alex, Dan, Fat, Deke...and I got to see many games during the Moe era, I would argue two Denver players were right there in the same discussion at least were pre-cocaine DT and the Year of The Haywood (Spencer), and I was lucky to see many of those games also. MJ asked DT to introduce him when he entered the Hall of Fame. DT was the first MJ. He was freaking amazing. He wasn't the facilitator like Jokic, but nobody is. Spencer Haywood's year was in the ABA, which was before most fans were born. It was considered by snobs to be an inferior league, but it actually wasn't, and Haywood dominated the league. Dominated. 30.0 points and 19.5 rebounds. hardwoodhype.com/the-work/f/time-capsule---spencer-haywoods-iconic-lost-aba-rookie-season

with all due respect to Sakic, dominating as a single player in the NBA is immensely more impressive than dominating in the NHL.
the NHL is a team sport. full stop. there's no greater example than this then Gretzky: not even the Great One could win in LA with a less talented supporting cast but the team he left behind in Edmonton managed to win a Cup without him. this would never happen in the NBA. take the most stacked team of all time, the Curry/KD Warriors, and take Steph off that team. their ceiling is getting swept by the Rockets in the WCF. the 90s Bulls (second greatest team of all time) couldn't beat the Knicks in the second round after MJ left to serve his suspension live out his lifelong dream playing baseball.

just 4 wins from matching Mario and the Penguins all-time win streak with one good team in the way (Vegas).
they should call it the jimi streak. couldn't have done it without your reverse jinx.

In Gretzky’s defense -
He did take the Kings to the Stanley cup finals - which was f***ing unheard of at the time.
Hockey doesn’t have a lot of goals scored per game - so if you’re contributing points every night, then it adds up to being a difference maker.
I do agree tho that the best bball player has more influence.
