this is absolutely insane. the last two nights in the nba, these are the points that teams are scoring:
130+ : 5 times 120-129 : 3 times 110-119 : 14 times 100-109 : 4 times
under 100 : 2 times
golden state 98 phoenix 91
both against denver. what the hell?
literally every team is putting up 110+ nightly (and scoring 130 isnt even that rare). the offenses in the nba have never been more potent. and yet, us, the team with one of the worst projected defenses in the league, is the only team playing defense? and its not even close.
I know its 3 games but this is unreal.

It's a different league now is really the reason. The punishments simply aren't as harsh now, period. That was on the heels of the Malice at the Palace, and in David Stern's NBA, the biggest fear was looking too urban to Mr. and Mrs. Middle America. They also put in the dress code during that era. This is very true. NBA players are on insurance commercials now.

I still had a bit of concern he'd start slow again this year like he did the last two years, but awesome to see those days appear behind us. Jokic knows what his role is, Malone knows what his role is, the rest of the team knows. Starting fast this year is huge for Jokic personally and the team. Really cool to see. ASG should be a lock if he trends anything close to this and the team is winning. MVP votes will also come if he continues anything close to this and the Nuggs overachieve a bit (maybe top 5-6 in the West).

ESPN's BPI has the Nuggets at 5th: www.espn.com/nba/story/_/page/Basketball-Power-Index/espn-nba-basketball-power-indexcounting the end of last regular season, the Nuggets have won 9 of their last 10 games, and it was a really tough schedule -- @okc, MIL, IND, MIN, LAC, POR, loss @min, lac, PHX, GSW. There's one soft team in there.

I remember hearing last year after Millsap came back, he pulled him aside and said your the guy or something along those lines. Malone around the half point made an obvious switch as well. Before that you've had Jokic at PF next to Nurkic, back to C, minutes never consistent, switched him to PF again with Plumlee, Malone tweaked the offense to start the season last year and had Jokic playing like a full perimeter player. Feels like were starting the season with everyone on the same page, some cohesion, and a guy like Jokic who's biggest knock has been not being aggressive enough know's what his role is.

If I would have told you a few years ago that a Laker team with LeBron would start off 0-3, would you have believed me?

You wouldn't expect any LeBron team to start 0-3. But then again, this is easily the worst team he has been on in probably 10 years.

The lakers aren’t as bad as 0-3 imo.
They’ve got an overhauled team. Narrowly lost to the blazers. Lost to the rockets and played the spurs close without Ingram and Rondo.
I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss them.
If we had as many new players as they have, everyone would expect an adjustment period.

Gonna disagree, Altitude. That team was built for 2008, not 2018. They are all finesse, with no shooting.
