Just so I am clear, the 2 offers, on a net basis, are as follows?
Melo, CB, Balkman, Ely and Williams for Favors, Harris, filler and 3 1st rounders (assuming Murphy and a pick leave)
vs.
Melo, CB, Carter, Williams for Felton, Chandler, Brewer and 3 1st round picks (assuming we flip Mozgov and Gallo for 2 picks)
Is that right?
Do we know if the draft picks are essentially comparable?
If we assume Felton and Harris are the same, we are comparing Favors vs. Chandler and Brewer? I'd rather have Favors, assuming the picks are similar. I would also keep Murphy to keep the additional pick, but it isn't my money!
If we did the Knicks deal, I am not sure I'd give up Mozgov for a 1st round pick. A 7-footer who has shown an ability to play since he started getting minutes is not easy to find - especially since Nene could play PF with him here. I'd be all for flipping Chandler or Gallo for a 1st rounder though.
No matter the trade, we would have to keep Felton or Harris, as Ty can't play 35 minutes a night at the point (especially with Carter gone in the Knicks deal).
Oh - and my prediction that the Nets will end up with Melo still stands...

I'll believe it when I see it. Melo's not at practice because he's in LA doing Conan tonight. we know something's going to happen, but I don't believe that it's fully decided yet. like I said, I'll believe it when I see it.

He is one of my favorite writers along with Adrian Wojo.

I'm really starting to doubt Mozgov gets included I have been reading on Knicks boards where if he was to be included Chandler was going to be taken out. Not sure if true

Mozzy better be included. If Chandler is taken out for Mozzy, and the Knicks for picks goes down, we'll escape this without any players from the Knicks except Felton. Sad to hear about Chauncey. Sounds like this is really going down. Nets reportedly still claim to be hopeful, via ap: www.nba.com/2011/news/02/21/nets-confident-melo-deal.ap/index.html

God I hope Billups asks NY for a buyout and comes back. I'd think they'd want to keep him with Felton in the deal....

Mozgov is included according to fisola on twitter good - here's a link saying what we get and who we lose probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/21/carmelo-anthony-to-knicks-%E2%80%9Cimminent%E2%80%9D OR The latest version of this has it a three-team trade that also includes Minnesota. The Knicks would get Anthony, Chauncey Billups Shelden Williams and Renaldo Balkman. The Nuggets would get Raymond Felton (who likely would be traded again before the deadline), Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, the Knicks 2014 first-round pick and Corey Brewer from Minnesota. Minnesota would get Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry’s expiring contract from the Knicks.

Not sure why Knicks fans are angry... they got a top 10 player for a bunch of role players.

Hate the Billups-Felton inclusion for three reasons:
-Felton isnt a terrible player, but he isnt great. He is a good PG when he has talented scorers around him (hence his success in NY and NC) but isnt s**t without scorers (which is what we will end up as). Put him on the Nuggets and he is back to below average performance he showed on the Bobcats
-Chauncey, like I said, will help lead us to the playoffs. Obviously it will be a 7 or 8 seed, but thats as good as Melo got us most of the time. Billups is a f***ing winner, and any Denver native will have a terribly hard time rooting against the knicks if he is traded (which will be sooooo hard). I would love, more than anything, to keep Chauncey, charge into the playoffs without Melo and watch the knicks continure to mediocrity with their new squad.
-If we are trading Chauncey, it better not be for competition for Ty. Ty isnt a star in this league, but he is at worst going to be a Felton level player.
