All I want to know is whether Chauncey is going to want to stick around if Melo is gone and we're not going to be seriously competing. There is no way we should trade him unless he actually wants to go somewhere else. But if he does want to go to a contender, moving him wouldn't be a bad option.
It'd be great if we could get Dampier's contract from Charlotte, and maybe another prospect from a third team. That at least would save us a shitload of money instantly.

Kaman, Gordon and a couple of 1 rounders or Lopez, Murphy and a couple 1st rounders. Anything short of the aforementioned - make him play out the season.

I wonder if that has some link with the fact that Nenê has withdrew the WC due a last minute injury...

Assuming this report is true...
This "WorldWide Wes" guy is such a tool. However, what I don't understand about all of this, does Melo really think he is going to win on a team like the Nets or the Clippers? Seriously? We are still a way better team than the Nets/Clippers/Rockets without Melo.

I like the fact that there will be a bidding war amongst at least a few teams. Nuggets could end up doing pretty well out of this. Call me naive, but i didnt't think the Nuggets looked that bad without Melo the past few seasons. Now of course an 82 game season/playoffs is going to make it a whole lot different I am kinda excited to have him moved now because he wasn't taking this team to a ring, so may as well try a new direction. Also it means half this board will go with him If CB is moved as well (assuming the Nuggets can't compete with whatever package they get for Melo), then i am excited to see Ty start. I'd like the Nuggets to get a decent starting big so Nene can finally shift to PF.

I admit that I would be one of the first to criticize Melo when I felt he was not putting in the effort. MAybe some new blood will put hustle back in the team. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out.

What do guys realistically think the Nuggets can get?
I'd love to see an NJ package based around Favors.

Im not picky on where he goes as long as we get a good return. If we arent getting a very promising return then I say screw him and let him lose $20 million by agreeing in the next CBA, he doesnt have the leverage to have the attitude like that.
Part of me wants him to go to the clippers because that franchise is so cursed he'd blow out an ACL instantly and all their prospects they traded to us would blow up.

What a ridiculous league... guys like World Wide DBag strong-arming owners.
Ship him to Minnesota. I just got back from the future, Melo's fat.

I have a bad feeling that for the Nuggets this is now about going into the lockout with next to nothing in payroll. It may turn out great in the long run when bargains are available by teams trying to adjust to the new CBA but it's a sad day when your perennial all star gets shown the door as he enters his prime regardless of the long term implications. It's going to hurt when the Nuggets are at home as Melo beats teams with clutch shots in the playoffs next year no matter how it turns out down the road. C ya Melo, thanks for lifting the Nuggs out of a decade of hell. Hopefully the WCF is not another decade away.
