I actually believe Melo. However, I don't see any way to dramatically improve this team in the short term unless someone gifts a player or really overvalues CB. We should be looking to move Billups and or Martin to get better players.....Period. It will take the FO taking on some salary to get players that can play at a higher level..... We have some good pieces to win with Lawson, AA, Melo, Nene and Harrington. We need to move Martin and Billups ASAP to get some players in here. Some teams will be looking to dump salary soon so Martin could get someone decent coming back..... Also we should be able to move Billups pretty easy..... Adding salary is the exact opposite thing this team needs to do, unless its a homerun deal.

It is ashame Melo won't go to the nets.
Would be nice to get Harris/Favors/picks. Get a third team involved and ship out Melo and CB.

AS disheartening as last night was.....This is quite interesting: "
On Monday at morning shootaround, I asked Melo about coach Mike D’Antoni’s offensive system in New York: “You’re up and down, fast-paced and you get extra possessions in the game,” he said. “On the flip side, I’ve been on teams where we weren’t known for our defense, and that’s not something I want to ever deal with again.”
Not exactly a ringing endorsement for MD and the Knicks....

www.nypost.com/p/sports/knicks/melo_choice_gOUYj9Wi7jGjn0hRb0B90HAccording to the report, Anthony told the Denver Nuggets organization that he wants to see the team get better within the next three months and that he "promises not to leave his team hanging."Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony recently took a shot at Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh while talking to Peter Vecsey of the New York Post. "I'm not Chris Bosh," Anthony reportedly said. "We're not the same person. What I do will be straight up. Management knows that."

That means trade Billups and Martin for something that can really help this team.

So why did he take a jab at Bosh and not LeBron?

Because Lebron is his 'friend'...and he doesn't want Lebron to take a 'mental note' or something.

no. I remember him posting "should I stay or should I go?" on his twitter, playing mind games with his fans. of course he was headed out of there, but I strongly doubt he even entertained the possibility of a sign-and-trade.

Thank God. Al Harrington is helping this team in more ways than one. That would be great if they could get Melo to sign the extension, it would increase his trade value around the league.

So why did he take a jab at Bosh and not LeBron? The current Nuggets GM was with Toronto last year. There have been a lot of media statements about Uriji knowing how the Bosh situation played out internally. I think Melo is aware of the comparison (which has been made far more than the LeBron comparison.)
