pretty much.
Melo didn't get a lot of touches in the 2nd half even before the foul trouble, BUT he still got in foul trouble and I'd say all the fouls were legit in this one. And he needs to stop looking for the 3 and just taking wide open ones, and wide open ones that he doesn't rush. But like Game 1, our "coaches" Billups and Karl need to find a way to get it in his hands.
Chauncey was s**t, again. JR's scoring hasn't showed up still.

Hard fought battle, but Nuggets lost the game because of woeful 3 point shooting. 5-27 from the 3 point line will lose you a lot of games. It seemed like they forced a lot of 3's rather than passing the ball and letting them come naturally.
The Nuggets just did not seem to be in offensive rhythm most of the game.

Nobody actually believes we got jobbed by the refs, right? As bad as they were, we got the clear benefit this game and couldn't capitalize, the biggies being the Fisher-Kenyon technical (K got away with that) and JR fouling Kobe on that 3. We just did NOT execute. Nobody played well tonight except Bird and first 1/2 Melo (don't know where that guy went after though).
You think they have the sack to get up again from this one? Game 1 felt different from this loss. This one has me much angrier.

Its simple, Karl makes some changes. we win game 2. I'm really sure the Lakers will slack off cause they up 1 game going back home
If we stop forcing shots, we can keep a lead

Disappointing loss, but if the Nuggs can win on Monday, the pressure shifts back to the Lakers to win at home. Let's let this one go, and go get Game 4. THIS IS FUN!!!!

Phil,
Melo was already jacking up shots in the first - The one where he pulled up on transition from 30 feet was atrocious. He got overconfident, as the rest of the team. And in the few touches he got in the second didn't do much either, so don't tell me things would be different if he had played more (taking that he would not just have fouled out earlier). Yes, there were a few very bad calls by the refs, but they were not the issue. We taking close to 30 three pointers when they were really not needed, that was the issue. If you are up 8 or more, you should not take a three pointer unless you are utterly open.

We didn't get jobbed but I wouldn't say we were helped either. I thought Nene got some quick ones in the 3rd that were a little ticky tack but the refs were not terrible. It was our inability to execute on offense and some uncharacteristically sloppy fast break play that got us -- how many fast breaks did we mess up in the series with Dallas and New Orleans?
I still think the whole team, except for Melo and Billups to a certain extent, is letting the magnitude the games intimidate them. We're just not relaxed and playing tight.

If Billups stop taking momentum killer shots (that kill us) shots then we'd win. Despite Carmelo poor shooting, he was the only one taking good shots. Billups is just an overrated point guard whose leadership is vastly overrated. f***ing PIECE OF s**t!

I do think we got shafted a bit in the 3rd with foul calls against us, there was a stretch where they called everything against us and nothing on the other end of the floor. But, we stopped doing what was getting us to the line during this stretch and continued to do it the rest of the way.

The refs have nothing to do with this, just taking bad shots and making poor decisions. The sad thing was the feeling of inevitability about it. Deep down did anyone really think we were going to hold or extend that third quarter lead?

WOW, JR should play in leagues for "special" people. 2-10 from 3 and he acts like he's been lighting it up.

Defense: Pau stepped up and Bird couldn't stop him. Nene's fouls caught up with him so he wasn't able to push Pau out of the paint. Other than Pau, we did OK in the paint but got caught by Ariza's 3s. Kobe is Kobe.
Offense: Fell in love with the 3 ball - Billups in particular; smelled of a desperation to be the scorer we needed. Kleiza's hustle might have justified his defensive limitations - he probably should have been in there instead of KMart. Maybe too much emotion in this team - hopefully it dissipates by game 4 and it plays with more calm and control.

Who the f**k knows why the Nugs fell in love with the 3. They just played stupid tonight plain and simple and let the Lakers steal this one.

Geezzz... all the shots he took were momentum shots, if he knocked them down, it'd give us huge boost. He missed them tonight... get your grip! We wouldn't be where we are without Billups and everybody. He's part of our team. We win and lose together.

The only guy on the team with a positive +/- stat was Kleiza with a +3, everyone else was negative Other than Billups every other starter had 5 fouls or more. The Lakers had nobody in foul trouble in this game, but should have, we stopped attacking the basket and settled for the bricks.
