Westbrook beating the buzzer. Wonder what that was about? Seems like everyone is doing it in the cup games since point differential actually factors in as a tiebreaker. Still stupid though.

Screw it, may as well try to win the tournament. It would be a nice check for the guys at the end of our bench, even though the cheapass NBA gives two-ways half the prize money.

Westbrook beating the buzzer. Wonder what that was about? Tiebreaker is score differential in the NBA Cup. Amazing that Russ is aware of that there.

Cancar with knee sprain. I’m sure they will do MRI in Denver to see if any structural damage.

Watching Jamal’s highs and lows…I tend to think the more on the ball he is…the worse things go. When Jamal is active off ball, either catching and shooting or turning the corner off a screen…he’s the guy I remember.

Cancar with knee sprain. I’m sure they will do MRI in Denver to see if any structural damage. Hoping for the best. I was thinking to myself that he was looking a bit gassed right before the injury. Probably too long of a stint for a guy that hadn't played that many minutes since early 2023. Guy just can't catch a break.

yikes at that desmond bane shooting line Desmond Bane would be my choice for player of the game if we win this. Ugliest game of the year by far. Bane's max contract exists to make us feel good about Jamal and MPJs. That's a great win too. Some ugly basketball but the effort was great.

Malone on Cancar: “I checked on (Cancar) at halftime, obviously, and he was in good spirits. Wasn’t in any pain. But I would hate to be premature with any speculation in terms of what happened. … He seemed to be fairly pain-free. It just felt a little uncomfortable when he came down. … Hopefully it’s nothing major and we can get him back out there, because I thought Vlatko with that second unit was really, really effective.”
Sounds like we may have dodged a bullet for once. Hopefully all the tests tomorrow come back clear.

Assuming Jokic comes back Friday, he would have had 11 days off between games. He's basically getting 2 All Star breaks this year. I would have much rather him have this break at the end of the season but still...huge for him to get this time off considering the minute total he's going to need to put up this year.
Also we are 13 games in and CB is averaging 16/5/2 on 55/42/81. Hasn't scored in single digits yet. Lowest FG % was 43%. Shot 50% or better in 10 of 13 games. Unreal.

Thank you, Calvin Booth.

Watson in November: 12/4/1/1/1 on 49/42/75. Absolute stud and only getting better.

Hope it’s just a strain with Cancar. But honestly, I think guys need 18 months from ACL surgery before they should be playing NBA basketball and it’s been 15 months (he tore it in August 2023) for Cancar. He’s looked a bit slow and hesitant to me and while some of that may have been mental, I’ve been thinking he didn’t look quite ready for this level of stress on a knee with such a big surgery.
It’s great the team pulled off this win — they needed it to get some momentum back.
It was a bit odd to me that Saric played so little, though, while Malone cycled through all of Cancar, Jordan and Nnaji.

Saric was in foul trouble. They took Vlatko out, put Saric in, Saric immediately got his 4th foul so they took him out, put Vlatko back in, and he got hurt seconds later.

Watson in November: 12/4/1/1/1 on 49/42/75. Absolute stud and only getting better. PWat and CB were revelations. We all knew CB is good, but no one expected him to be this good. Also, PWat, especially the way he started, this turnaround is exceptional. However, that is not enough. Jamal had pretty good game, probably first one in a while, but there is good to great chance he will be lost in next one. MPJ had awesome game, with 5 offensive rebounds, 11 overall, 3 assists and no turnovers. But more then anything, he attacked the basket like crazy. Is this MPJ we going to get? Cause 3s will starting to fall, thats not the question, but will he continue being this aggressive? If yes, that starting lineup is going to become even more dangerous with CB, AG and MPJ all playing above the rim. You add Jokic, Nuggets should lead the league in offensive rebounding(which might affect transition defense, but thats something they can work on)... All that looks good, but main problem is still there. Lack of half court offense without Jokic. This Memphis team without Ja, Smart and Edey is really not that great and Nuggets beat them in pretty uncharacteristic way. Thats not going to work against better opponents, as we saw more then once.

MPJ has been pretty good for most of the year. The issue with the Nuggets is when he gets hot they just stop going to him. He's not involved enough in the offense IMO.
At the end of the day without Jokic this team isn't going to win many games. When Jokic is back we'll be a great team again. Figure out a bench.

Local media continues to be absolutely worthless. Not a single update on the Spencer Jones or Vlatko Cancar injuries.
I guess we'll have to wait until Friday for one of the Dallas reporters to do some actual journalism and find out for us.
