Basketball is about balance. You also need spacing when you have Gordon on the floor. The FO and coaching staff wanted KCP to opt in. One series doesn’t change that. You thinking losing KCP is addition by subtraction is insane levels of cope. Even worse than thinking Watson would replace BB last summer. What happened? HE DIDNT AND WE LOST A RING BECAUSE OF IT. Agreed except losing bb wasn’t Denver’s fault Losing kcp was Even if we could have payed BB (rules wise but braking deep into luxury tax) we would have lost him same way as we lost KCP. I have never seen a financial move that would suggest a different outcome.

Boston has no problem paying their Champions We got worse when BB left. Even Uncle Jeff would have been nice vs Minessota. Now we are even worse. Zeke is the 5th highest salary on this team and he isn't in the rotation.
Still no idea how they can pay brown and Tatum super max deals and still pay porzingis, jrue and white And all their bench guys

They are giving us too many real reason to keep track of I don’t get how a savy business man like stan can watch his $4 billion dollar asset get destroyed like this. Remember we don’t have many first round picks in the next 5-6 years. After jokic leaves we are looking at 20 win seasons for a while Would I still trade it all for our title? Yes but man this is way tougher than I thought it would be

Was a big fan of trading out Morris and Barton for KCP (and Ish) along with the Bruce Brown signing. Prior to the 2022-2023 season most knew the next step for Denver was a wing defender that could hit 3s along with a bench scorer in order to win a title. Bruce and KCP did that but unfortunately for Denver, both were just short term rentals as money was going to lure them away. Do I think either Bruce or KCP are worth $22+ mil/year...hell no...but that's the going rate anymore for success.

Of course when we extended kcp we have him a player option And once again it bites us in the ass. If they suck they pick up their option (Reggie). If they are good they opt out and leave (kcp) How does our front office stay employed?

Because no one is forcing you to not spend. The league wont give Braun to another team because we in the 2nd apron.
Just spend the money.
While we have peak Jokic. You can have total salary of 50bucks after Jokic is washed i dont care

If i am Josh and i am willing to spend whatever it takes to keep the core. Tell me how does the core get broken up? Thank you There's no way to keep KCP at $22m, keep the core (AG, Murray, Jokic, MPJ) without hitting the second apron. Your argument is that KSE is made up of billionaires and they should just pay. However - the second apron creates massive penalties (loss of draft picks, trade issues, etc). Now that said - If KCP was incredible, maybe I would actually join you in this advocacy. The problem? KCP got man-handled by Anthony Edwards, and honestly didn't do so well against Booker the year before. Braun is a better defender - downgrade on shooting, but a better defender. I am advocating that we need a better defender on the floor. If Anthony Edwards is slowed down, we will win the championship - simple as that. The points we now take off the board for Minny will be more than what we lose with KCP not in the lineup. Think of it this way - If Calvin traded KCP for Braun and his lower contract, I would support that trade (seriously). Fortunately, we don't have to do a trade, because Calvin already got his guy (Braun) in the draft. This is contingent on Strawther being a decent backup, but I expect that he will be solid - both Straw and RW only have to give us 15 quality mins per night - I don't see why they can't do that.
