If Malone wasn't genius and kept Jamal on the bench down the stretch we would have lost this. Wolves guards owned him on both ends. He contested zero shots tonight and killed the flow by over dribbling over and over again. -11 tonight. Only AG was worse

Reggie finished with a team best +17 He held up against Ant on defense. I was terrified every time Ant went at him, but he held up. Much, much better than Murray did. |

Shooting lights out from 3 was the only reason we won. Nuggets have consistently performed below expectations against teams missing stars this year. It's not a Minnesota thing, it's a Denver thing. They seem to lose focus for a quarter at a time against teams they don't think can hurt them. |

This team along with the coaching stuff is just dumb.
Reggie needs to be removed from the rotation as soon as tonight. He's a two way unique player: one way he's the only player that Jokic doesn't make better and the other way he's the only player that makes Jokic looks worse on the floor. His inability to pass the ball to Jokic either in p&r or when Jokic is in a low post forces him to take more shots or forces other players that have no business in shooting, shoot the ball. That is a recipe for disaster. Malone, trying to hide him with the starters, cut Jokic-Murray minutes which is biggest mistake possible within this team. Instead of winning Jokic-Murray minutes big way, we're barely surviving Jokic- Reggie minutes. Tonight he was in plus but that was the main reason Murray was -11. I don't hate the guy but he just doesn't fit with this team

That's true, but their starters are build to give our stars the most problems out of any starting 5 in the NBA. KAT/Gobert combo on Jokic and McDaniels/NAW/Ant combo on Jamal. Every Nuggets player in podcasts and interviews said that Wolves 1st round was the thoughest matchup for us and Wolves where without McDaniels and Reid + Ant is much better player than last year, also KAT/Gobert seems to started clicking as a 4/5 combo on both ends. Again, i am not saying that we are winning or losing that series. Prolly goes 7, but i would not put a single $ on that series outcome tbh. |
