I'm ok with Booker and KD getting theirs. Where I think the Suns really kill you is with offensive rebounds. Just like any team with great scorers, they want everyone looking at KD and Booker so guys like Ayton and Craig can sneak in there and get the rebound.
In fact I think those nuts and bolts things are the key to beating the Suns. They feast off of weak plays, like guys leaking out or trying to dribble out in traffic. Secure the rebound. Also, if you have to foul, foul. Don't give them extra points and possessions.

Please take care of homecourt advantage… if we are 2-0, we got this series. hundred percent this. my predictions were 2-0 Nuggets, 2-2, Nuggets keep home court advantage for 3-2 then steal one in Phoenix for 4-2 series win. but its instrumental to win first two home games. I hope guys are 100% ready for this game. and relaxed. this is going to be shooting context, so we need all of Murray, KCP, MPJ and BB fully locked in. once Jokic post up few times, defense will start collapsing, so those 3s need to start falling like tear drops. swish, swish, swish... one after another

NT for some reason think basketball players bodies cant handle playing basketball Have you watched the last five years of Kevin Durant's career? Were you surprised when Embiid and Kawhi got hurt? Zion? George? No some players are more likely to get injured, but you dont play basketball in Excel, you play your guys and try to win. And more often than not players playing heavy minutes are fine Why do you think all these coaches (the best in the world) keep playing these guys these minutes?

They don’t have forwards who match up with Gordon’s strength and athleticism and I’d like to see him make a big effort to get inside and block guys out. Gordon can even block Ayton out and use that to create increased defensive rebounding opportunities for Jokic, who can fuel some breaks with his outlet passing. On offense, I’d really like to see the Nuggets put Durant in pick and roll coverage by running whoever he is guarding around Jokic screens.

I just wish Malone had the foresight to give Watson some reps during the warmup round, because there's about a 100% chance we're going to require his services against KD.

I just wish Malone had the foresight to give Watson some reps during the warmup round, because there's about a 100% chance we're going to require his services against KD. if our hopes lies on rookie guarding KD, I think we are f-ed... I honestly think Suns are bunch of names thrown together, and nothing else. they are soft team, they don't like to play through contact. fortunately, outside of Paul, they not dirty. Ayton, KD, Booker, Craig... they all pretty clean players, but again, outside of maybe Booker, they don't embrace contact. so just play hard and be focused. this is not a series where you should measure who has better set of skills, cause they do. but Nuggets have size and physicality on their side. Jokic and Murray will play hard, no question about it. KCP knows trick or two. so its imperative that AG bump KD as much as he can. this doesn't mean they need to fight, no no. just use your bodies against their. remember how Boston handle KD last season? do as much of that as possible. play physical, playoff basketball.

there are going to be stretches during the series where KD is going to look like the most unstoppable player in the history of the sport, having PW come in for 5-8 minute spurts and defend Durant could be the difference between "manageable outburst" and "Nuggets are frauds like the Grizzlies".

I would like to see Watson get minutes on KD/Booker and Zeke/Bryant get minutes on Ayton/Biyombo
Maybe a few minutes for Reggie Jackson as well ...utilize our depth!

Defense - Booker is very good in splitting double teams, CP3 is very good at running the PnR and KD is mostly passive and waiting for teams to commit to Book ISO or CP3 PnR for him to get open. In my opinion as crazy as it sounds, the best chance to slow them down is to have MPJ on KD and AG on Craig/Okogie but basically defending as roamer/strong side help on those Book ISO's and CP3 PnR's. Nobody is stopping/blocking KD's jumper, but MPJ length could bother him more than AG's physicality.
Offense - Win the war, not the battle. Jokic and AG must be huge on offense, efficient and dominant on the glass/offensive boards, but X factor is Jamal. If Jamal fail in the ISO trap and try to battle with Book = we step out of our offensive identity we are not winning the war.
I can easily see us winning in 5 if we are disciplined on both ends of the floor, due to our depth, youth and team oriented basketball. But i can also see us losing in 6 or 7 if we get frustrated because KD/Book hit 4-5 tough shoots in a row and move away from the game plan/team basketball.

I haven't posted in a minute ...was hospitalized for a day with kidney stone and was discharged yesterday ...still recovering Man I had it twice and I know how it feels. The only good thing about it is that when it comes next time you'll know the pain so you won't panic that it's something more serious. I hope you're fine now

We are more rested then them. They played till the end of the season full speed and then continued playing 40+ minutes KD and DB. It should be a factor at some point of time. This should also be an easier matchup for both Jokic and Murray by a good margin so I hope we beat them easier than some expect. We can definitely lose the series if Jokic and Murray don't play their best games but I see no reason for it. I am more scared of Durant than Booker although Booker was a better in their first series. Starters are equally good but our bench seems to be better

Gotta wait until we see how guys look before you start talking strategy IMO. Watson absolutely may be needed, he may not. We've seen it the entire playoffs. Some players rise, some players fold. In today's NBA and how offensively driven it is it also just comes down to hitting shots. I feel good about this series if we get playoff Murray, MVP Jokic, and regular season Gordon/MPJ. I don't think PHX has anything defensively to prevent that. Murray lives off tough shots, PHX has no answer for Jokic offensively. If Murray goes brick mode and Jokic can't go full MVP than were fucked no matter what strategy we roll with.
