Monty Williams is a wonderful coach. But he’s from the George Karl school of coaching — excellent at coming up with a winning system, incapable of adjusting when he gets punched in the face. Told you guys - Phoenix is no good. Step on their throat now and rip the heart out. At the season end they were barely beating our bench in Phx, it was the season end but they had DB and KD in and those guys were not in a game to lose. well done to the team. Murray was obviously star of the night but for me AG produced masterpiece game. 11 to go. |

Just a complete A+ across the board. Also I think Jokic's wrist is fine. He's just missing some shots. In that 4th quarter after the whistle he literally drilled like a fadeway midrange shot lol beasting on the boards, good from 3/FT line. I dunno don't think there's much there. Murray was playoff Murray and was the guy but Gordon gets my game ball. His offense was the X-Factor. 100% agree. If Gordon has 1 more game like that I don't think we're losing the series. Obviously he'll regress to his mean but Jokic can absolutely play much better than he played tonight. Same as MPJ. The key is for KCP and Bruce to keep being steady. Bruce was phenomenal tonight on both ends. |

Barring unforeseen, one of the, if not THE, greatest Nuggets playoff performances of all time, and I've seen them all. How about beating down Chris Paul's team by 58 points back in 2009? But this one felt better because of the revenge angle, and because the Suns are considered a contender while those Hornets were a weak lower seed. Mom and I had a ton of fun. |

I popped a champagne bottle when phx traded for Durant. Phx with Mikal and cam (and crowder!) was a much scarier team - better defense and better shooting - extremely young, but with seasoned playoff experience. It was a wonderful core.
When it was announced what phx gave up to get KD, I knew they were done - this year, and the years following. It will be noted as one of the worst trades in nba history, because not only will it not net a banner, not only did they obliterate a great young core, but they also saddled themselves with a bad cap, that will paralyze future movement.
The trade should have been:
4 or 5 first round picks
CP3 - and -
Crowder, Payne, Landry, Craig, Baizley
= $65 million
In exchange for:
Durant and Dinwiddie
($65 million)
This team:
Ayton
Durant
Mikal
Booker
Dinwiddie
Bench: Cam, Okogie, Lee
Now that’s a team to fear. Maybe Brooklyn would have asked for more firsts (or some swaps)? But they needed to make cp3 the jettisoned player (not Mikal and Cam). From there, CP3’s remaining two years of $30 million per is now taken off the books, with money utilized to keep the young core intact.
Instead - PHX is now absolutely cap-strapped for the next 2 year (not to mention Durant having five years left, that will soon graduate to $50 per year - wouldn’t hurt as bad if Paul wasn’t there making $30).
Minny was a more difficult matchup for us (and we beat them in 5). I hope phx keeps talking garbage, so we smack them for three more games. Dispose of this team, conserve energy, and get to the WCF.
Phx is going to be a lousy team for the next 2 to 5 years solely because of this trade.

Wow! Playoff Murray is a sight to behold! While I doubt he puts up numbers like this in every game, the fact Phoenix has to fear somebody besides Jokic makes this series tilt toward Denver...assuming they continue to play the same level of defense. You can just sense the level of disrespect given toward the Nuggets fueling the team right now.
