The Porter quarter to start the 4th where both Murray and Jokic rested needs to be talked about more. Carried and took the lead and got momentum back.

Yeah, you were too busy on the trade MPJ for RJ Barrett train, lol. yeah, sure. but we're not exactly in the clear when it comes to MPJ's health, so running victory laps in that regard when you root for a cursed franchise is not something I would recommend. It’s not just MPJ I worry about. Any NBA player can go down with a season ending or career ending injury at any time. Just because MPJ has been taken off floor with three surgeries before age 25, it doesn’t mean he’s THAT much more at risk than other players. You don’t trade a guy like Porter for a guy like Barrett ever, especially out of fear of health.

I really want a sweep to show we’re serious FOR f***ing ONCE Just take Game 3. One game at a time. Game 3 I think is the one where Jokic really needs to step up. He's the one that can basically single handedly steal you a road game. He's due.

Even Jokic's wrist. I'm not a doctor and I get MPJ has red flags with his health but he's looked fine this year. I don't know who it was but it was the MPJ for Simmons s**t that got me. Ben Simmons would tank this team. I get being worried about MPJ's health but if you did trade him it would have to make sense. He just elevates this team's ceiling. He's so dangerous. Even when he's not scoring teams are afraid of his shot. Pretty sure multiple posters have mentioned it but he basically creates space for others by simply being on the floor.

MPJ whips ass and is only going to get better. The injury concerns are scary but there's nothing we can do about it now. Just pray he stays healthy.
His athleticism coming back this year has been so cool to watch. Dude is also clutch as f**k. He's building quite a clutch playoff resume. Clippers shot. Blazers shot. Tonights 4Q. Big time player.

Weird to say, but this was a good game to have heading into Minnesota. I think we’ll see focused Nuggets team that won’t ease up now on the road. I like Denver to go up 3-0 now. Not sure if it was "good" but it does make sense. Wolves were eventually going to punch back. We weren't going to have 4 blowout wins and I'm not sure I'd want that. You do want a little adversity. I don't want Jokic being able to coast for 4 games. Wolves got embarrassed for almost a game and a half and showed some pride. Edwards did his thing. Gobert showed up. Nuggets withstood it. Playoff Murray shows up, Jokic got more involved, MPJ popped off. 3rd quarter defense was pathetic but the defense showed back up in the 4th. Even Jeff Green. He has good defensively game 1. His defense fell apart this game IMO but atleast he got going offensively. He was +15. From an individual player stand point there isn't anybody I have an issue with at all 2 games in. If I had to reach I'd say Jokic becoming more aggressive earlier and Bruce Brown needs to give the ball up a little sooner in possessions.

MPJ is basically in uncharted territory when it comes to his injury history. if MPJ manages to play out his entire contract without another major injury, it would be one of the biggest gifts from the bball gods in the history of the league.

It was JB who was pushing for Simmons too. I remember the debates I got in with him on that one. Why a team with Jokic would need another passer like Simmons seemed strange to me.

my argument was we should trade MPJ to the highest bidder before we were forced to max him. I said we could've traded for Ben if we wanted, or to the Rockets for the lionshare of the haul they received from the Nets.
I don't want to relitigate this argument for the 50th time GBG. just enjoy the W, grandpa.

I understand why Simmons could have been an interesting piece -- in the AG role, not as an MPJ replacement.

I understand why Simmons could have been an interesting piece -- in the AG role, not as an MPJ replacement. I mean no need to dive deep into this when the Nuggets are up 2-0 lol I get being scared of MPJ's health and entertaining the idea of a trade. Just like while I've been a huge Murray fan I get the fear of the inconsistency. I don't even hate Simmons as a player like alot of people do but he would be a death sentence in any role on the Nuggets. Swap him for KCP. He literally can't shoot and teams sag off him like crazy. In any lineup with Jokic ... Simmons would brutally murder it. It would be like playing Jokic with Plumlee but worse. Even someone like Faried was used down low in a pocket and could atleast finish Jokic's passes. Simmons's best offensive strength is his passing. He'd literally be standing in the corner letting his defender sag off him by 5 feet in the Nuggets offense. I genuinely think he's the worst fit in the league for the Nuggets which is why I even mentioned it lol I wouldn't take Simmons on the Nuggets for free.

Green's been amazing, but he definitely started to fade in the second half. I think this is where I start to really question shrinking the bench so much. This is a series where it might not hurt to give Jordan a few minutes here and there.

Green was great tonight - but - I said from the start that DAJ needs to get mins against minny. We had that in game one and had a much larger blowout.
Green is great - but too many mins does wear the poor guy down.

My notes -
I couldn't be happier with the win because it helped with 2 things that will be critical to this run:
1. Minny punched us hard in the face, in the 3rd quarter. We had to get off the mat and fight - and did just that. Good to have a test like that in the first round.
2. MPJ finally took initiative. Normally, MPJ has saved his best for when Jokic is with him - but this time, he took the ball and put us on his back. This bodes excellent for the rest of the playoffs, because invariably, there will be times that Jokic and Murray are on tired legs (like tonight).
Not worried about Jokic. My fav 'amateur' commentator is Ray Martinelli, and his analysis on Twitter is that Jokic is purposely avoiding the double-team trap the Wolves are trying to set. As long as others can score, Jokic doesn't need to playmake as much. It's a good thing - he won't get tired out during the run. Overall - if Jokic needs to go into Destroyer-mode, he will - the situation hasn't called for that (and hopefully wont until round 2 or 3, really).
Only concern is Malone's "coaching" lol. We can't survive on a 7-man rotation. Get DAJ and Braun in there - that recipe created a 30 point win 3 nights ago.
