I posted it in a previous game thread but Murray in 49 wins averaged 19.5/5.1/4.4 on 46.2/39.7/85.6. In 26 losses Murray averaged 15.8/4.4/3.9 on 38.9/29.9/83.1. In the two losses this series Murray scored 6 points on 2-6 shooting and 17 points on 8-23 shooting. Back to back games of 24/23 points on 56% and 57% shooting and in game 2 he had 24 points on 8-17 shooting. Nuggets are 20-9 when he scores 20 or more points this season, and 11-1 when he scores 25 or more.
He has a "star" impact on the Nuggets when he's rolling it just leads to wins. When he actually plays like a legitimate 2nd option we become a different team. When he shows his age and the inconsistency shows out the Nuggets struggle.
This IMO is why we'll never need a true PG. Murray may never figure out his consistency issues, but pairing scoring guards next to Jokic is just a recipe for success. Nuggets issue right now is they are unreliable. If the Nuggets ever get a consistent 20+ scorer next to Jokic I think that's when this team turns into a legitimate contender.

The scoring is great but in Games 4/5 Murray stepped us in the playmaking facet too. Him running PnRs with Jokic opened up the scoring game for both of them in Game 4. It was deadly. He's done a really good job at hitting the pocket pass to Jokic early off of the PnR in Games 4 and 5. He really just has to find consistency in his overall game in general. I expect him to be very good tomorrow. He's confident.

the comments on the "pretend superstar" tweet are great.
By the way: -- Jokic is the best player in the playoffs thus far.

Donât want to lose site of the fact that itâs pop in SA.
But - Pop is 1-5 in these situations, meaning that this is the point where his âadjustmentsâ usually lose steam.
Feeling cautiously optimistic.
GO NUGGETS!!!!

Pop is GOAT. But he does not have players like Parker or Duncan to "coach on the floor" anymore. Those 2 were not just stars/superstars because of their abilities to do great things with basketball, but also to set an example of putting the team needs ahead of personal success and stats, stars that led with example. He does not have that in LMA and DeRozan because both of them are ISO/hero ball stars and SAS overall talent aside from those 2 can't be compared with Denver talent. Our superstar is Duncan-like and we play our best basketball when everyone else on the team "buys in" for team needs, unselfish basketball. Our best game of this series and we had 7 players in double digits, coincidence? I think not. Having a player that have ability to put up 40+ on any given night is great, but should be exploited only if that player have a clear MM on a given night.
Malone outcoached Pop in last 2 games by far, does not mean that Pop has "lost it", it shows that Malone is learning on the run and have a loaded gun while on the other end Pop knows how to shoot but he has only few bullets and a lot of blank ones.
Come out with the same energy, confidence, fun, focus, like in game 6 and play this game the right way, we got this tonight easy.

Feeling cautiously optimistic. GO NUGGETS!!!! There aren't many adjustments Pop can really make. Maybe he starts Bertans at the 4? I can't really think of anything else...start Belinelli at the 2? There aren't many moves he can make. Only adjustments I can see him making is just going to the hard double on Jokic or jumping Murray in the PnR. Honestly the more I watch this Spurs team the more I appreciate how good a coach Pop is. They have really bad defensive personnel outside of White/Poetl and they're as far away from a modern NBA offense as possible and he still got them to 7 in the West. Guy is just incredible at his job.

People calling Jokic the MVP of the first round are bonkers. He could have very well been sweeped had it not been for Murrays heroics
Dame easy

He could have very well been sweeped had it not been for Murrays heroics Dame easy I think Jokic has been great lately and has had a great series overall. Answered alot of concerns. They didn't shut down his passing or expose him. He struggled with the double teams. A big game tonight could go a long way. But yeah it's Dame .. and it's not even a question. I don't even know who else you could make a legitimate argument for.
