Lakers have 25+ FTAs in every win, and have nothing to lose. We got our work cut out for us. Lakers have a major revenge factor too. They're going to play their asses off Game 1 to try to steal it. Nuggets better be ready for a very physical series. Path is looking like: AD/Lebron, KD/Beal/Booker, Luka/Kyrie, Celtics. Fun times. Seems impossible but Jokic/Murray we trust. That's a brutal playoff gauntlet. But reality is there isn't an easy out in the West playoffs. At least we got home court for sure in first two and if DAL beats OKC we'd theoretically have it in WCF.

unbelievable. my instincts >
Zion is the most dogless superstar since TMac. the Pelicans should consider trading him this summer while the rest of the NBA world forgot about the last time he tried to weasel out of playing basketball.

Why do you think the lakers are better? Gabe Vincent? Prince? Instead of catching a tired Lakers team in WCF, we face them in first round. They are better than the worn down team we swept. They are fresher. Both teams are fresh my friend. Last year we were coming off a 6 game series, as were they. Lebron is a year older. AD having back issues.

We are vulnerable.

I still think this series has a decent chance to go 7.

I find it weird how folks always want to give our opponent the benefit of the doubt (Lakers are healthier and not tired like last year) but not our own team. Nuggets finished the season on a great run, got healthier and will start out at home against a team that has had to fight tooth and nail just to get into the play in. Going into the final two games they were in a battle for 10 with the Kings and the Warriors.

I actually understand some of the oldies trepidation. the Lakers have been kicking our ass longer than most of us have been alive so there is some generational trauma at work here lol. but the Lakers are light work. they can't defend us and they can't keep up with us offensively. double whammy. calm.

It's not like the Nuggets finished the season with more wins than last year despite a much tougher conference, having the target on their backs from being champs, and Reggie having to start 23 games for Jamal or anything.
Oh wait, they totally did.
As much as nobody wants to believe it, this team is better than last year's team. Watson over Green is a big upgrade. This year's Braun is much better. This year's Porter is better. We miss Bruce but a combination of more KCP/CB minutes, Holiday, and Reggie will compensate for that.

Watson over Green in a vacuum might be an upgrade, but it's not an upgrade in a Lakers series. He can't guard Lebron. Jeff could. The Nuggets don't have a secondary ball handler to pair with Murray the way they did with Bruce. If we're getting Reggie attacking the rim against AD, we know how that's going to go. My gut says Nuggets in 6 but I'm terrified of this series (partially because of how much I hate the Lakers)

Sabonis gets all of his assists from DHOs and just chucking it to the 3pt line where they shoot lights out.

The guys are confident and I am hoping for a big run this year.

The key is Murray, and I’m just not confident in his durability for two months of postseason. He might be at his unhealthiest now, and playing 40 mpg increases his chances of a new injury or aggravating and existing condition. So a 7 game physical series with Lakers would be a big blow to get through the rest of our rounds with healthy Murray.

I'm not really worried about Jamal. I believe them when they said they waited until he felt great to bring him back, and I don't think the little issue he had in the final regular season game is anything. He stepped on a foot and walked it off.
I think if the shins or the knee were any concern at all they'd have just shut him down. And they certainly wouldn't have played him in the back to back.

The good thing is that AD played 76 games this season which is way more than his previous seasons. He's close to Joker so Jokic should win that battle. LBJ looked gassed in the second half and then altitude. We should be heavy favorites but it'll depend on Jokic/AD matchup

I think we always have to worry about Jamal and his health. He’s injury prone in regular season, and postseason is far more physical and more mpg will be played by him. We were blessed with excellent team health in last year’s championship run. Hoping that good fortune repeats itself is maybe too much to hope for. And Murray is the most likely key player to go down, based on his recent and long term history. Fingers crossed. 🤞🤞

And, again, this rest will do us wonders.
MPJ played 20 more regular season games this year than he ever has before. Reggie turned 34 today and he played 82 games with 23 starts. Justin Holiday just turned 35. KCP is 32, played 76 games this year, and finished the season nursing finger and shoulder issues. Joker played 79 games.
The Lakers are even older than we are, AD is banged up, and they're coming into the altitude on less rest.

It's also funny that GSW and Kings are shooting exactly the same percentage 41.9 fg and 40% from 3 but the Kings are up by 14

Ham has an interesting dilemma at his hands. his only guard that can feasibly defend Jamal is Gabe Vincent, who is a complete non-factor offensively. but if he chooses to prioritize Vincent over D'lo, that could risk tanking D'lo's confidence as we all know about his fragile mental state. it's really a no-win situation.
